Damn rain. Its the only thing stopping me spending yet another night in my VXT. All thanks to Thorney Motorsport. Was edging towards AMD until the "announcement" and v glad I waited. TMS was very easy to find. Facilities v comfortable , tv room , games , dvds , drinks. Its an Aladins cave of nice to have Vx parts. Also v interesting to see Thorneys car stripped down as it now is. Staff v helpful and do they know there stuff, quickly putting right a couple of minor faults . Once the Milteck was on Thorney set to work sorting the new map. Took it out for a test or three then gave it back to me. Divorce exhibit A is the best way of discribing the first drive. Extreemly pleased with the results. Smoother much much faster more torque and surroundsound exhaust entertainment every moment. Its what the VXT really should have been when it left Hethel. Cant recomment the stage 2 enough. Very very worth while. And a real fun experience at TMS. ( Rubber , your window display skills are second to none) My only complaint was that Thorney left a set of OZ Racing multispokes out of their boxes to tease me with. It was sooo tough but I managed not to buy them. Will wait to see how much my impending devorce settlement costs me. John: Thanks for a fantastic job and all the encouragement. :D :D chinky chinky

Yeah i`ll see you there mines just a remap which will be done while the boyz attack your exhaust with all mammer of large nasty noisey grinding,drilling hammering things :D

I already have the Miltek but with the VXR hybrid turbo I am expecting quite a lot from the stage 2. I missed stage 1 so expect to get a lot mor power more of the time. I know the power will be capped, though, as I am not getting the Charge Coller yet but... first things first. Should be able to give you an update next Thursday :D

Main difference is the full Milltek.

End of the day a stage 1 (either car) is about refining the power delivery, improving the torque and power and (in the case of the NA) raising the rev limit. Both smooth out the power delivery and make the car better and easier to drive.

For the turbos the stage 2 is more about absolute grunt as the Milltek allows us to run with a higher power map to get rid of heat and free up engine breathing. There is as much of a difference between a stock car and a stage as a stage 1 to a stage 2.

We recommend the stage 2 on both cars as it represents the greatest overall jump and really creates a completely different car. We also like the look on peoples faces when they come back in after their test drive :D

So in my case where my NA has the VSE, the pre-cat removed and a Viper Induction kit what would be the best map to use? Do you put the stage 1 map on and then tweak it "up" or the stage 2 map and tweak it "down" if that makes sense? Either way are they the same price? Cheers Rich

Hi Andy, sorry, only just caught up with things, and to answer your question, - yes very!
The car is much smoother, and somehow easier to drive. The power delivery is far better with more pull lower down. It sounds great, with an almost bugle like note as the revs peak. It obviously doesnt have the shear grunt of your T but I think I've got myself a really nicely balanced car now re power/handling. I went up to Silverstone on Saturday for the classic car racing and had a nice little play with an Audi TT. It was a hoot watching him try and keep up round and out of the rounabouts! ( edited to say : on the way there I mean, not the track!)
All in all I'm well pleased!
How was your journey back? Have you got those Nitrons fitted already?
