Clio 1.2 16v. Had FK Automotive coilovers, 4 pot Hi-Spec brakes, strut braces, Speedline Turinis 16", 50bhp shot of N20 and i always had the back seats out to make the most of all 75bhp! A real giant killer, actually took it on a track day once and i made a mockery of a few cars with triple the power. The only bad thing was that it cost a whopping £3k to insure.

Seriously, you would be scared!

In those days, we didn't posses my god send (hair straighteners) and as i have naturally curly hair i had obviously attempted to straighten it. Thats not the half of it, i seem to be wearing some sort of leggins tucked into some boots - oh the shame :o

So my statement still stands - no!

This thread has just made me realise that I have no pictures of my first car :o :( A C-reg Astra 1.3L. Was L supposed to mean Lux? Mine was extra Lux, I put SRi seats in B) And big speakers! It was that horrific 80s vauxhall blue colour - was it "china blue?" It even had... wait for it... big round spotters on the grille B) sh*t, it was only 7 years ago! Did I really want to admit that??? Anyway, I loved that car! Stood up to a lot of abuse when I think about it

A Maestro 1.3L :( Iceberg white (that's beige to everyone else) with obligitory go faster "swooshes", driving lights (that didn't work) and a large exhaust pipe. God what an awful car but at the time..I was still out there every Sunday polishing it.

You flash git :D :D

My first was a MOT failed, Triumph Herald 1200 estate. However, new outriggers, a Spitfire engine, spax coil overs and 5" J rims didn't make it a giant killer :(

Cheers. The 2B kit cost £3700, but we needed to buy a load of extra stuff to finish it properly so it was nearing 6 grand. We tried to do everything as well as we could though - it is possible to do it with the kit contents, but it just won't be very nice. tbh, if you were going to buy a kit car, don't make it a Robin Hood - the whole thing had so much stuff wrong with it (for instance the chassis is miss-jigged, so one front wheel is an inch infront oif the other). I know 3 people who bought the kit at the same time, and only one has finished so far - and it took him 3 years. - Gordon

I think most people do. There is a good kit from MK engineering (or tiger i think) that you can get for about £3-4k all in, and they seem to be pretty good from what i've heard. Saw one being built and all the parts were thumbsup Also lighter than the RH.

OMG ! - Don't have a piccie of mine to hand, but found this one .... Mine was a 14TS - it had twin carbs ! (About as technical a term I ever got at 17 .) In the end I put bigger wheels on the rears (tried the same on the fronts but they were a little too big - oops) - So carried 2 spares just incase - luckily one sat onto of the engine - really !!!!
