Oh man! I forgot about this. Haven't laughed so hard for ages. Some of my favourite bits:

i saw a very posh man - think he might have been a barrister - this sunny lunchtime eating a melton mowbery. it was obviously way too much for him, tho - it was crumbling before his very eyes and he ended up with juice all down his expensive silk tie.

Well I personally eat my Gregg's pasty without the bag and napkin. I'm not ashamed of the logo or anything I just think it looks better without.

Is botulism covered by the Greggs warranty?

I am now thinking of taking the pastie into it's natural habitat... a picnic

ricky bought a greggs - he emptied out all the filling and just ate the pastry.

Perhaps we should compile a VX220 Forum 2003 Annual of the "greatest hits" :) Edit: Sod it, just stick it in the FAQ Ben

glad to say my pasty recently passed it's Ministry Of Taste, so I can continue to munch around without that nasty Public Office of Loose Ingredients & Contents Enforcer coming and putting my pasty in his fridge.

I trust this will be going into the FAQ library? Pie choice is not a simple matter and deserves some prominence in the section IMO. As an aside nobody has addressed the question of buying or eating either pie past their sell by date. Is this recommended?

Purebob, you must of had a quiet day you posted the org. post. When you come down to the west country there are fantastic shops selling pasties with all types of cheese, bambie, real steak, boar, but as these are not avaible up there I must suppot Ginsters as they are only 20 miles or so away and employ what would seem half of Cornwall.

I have a question..... I've heard that if you discover a problem with your Greggs pasty and send it off to Greggs Consumables HQ for inspection, it can take months before you recieve your pasty back..........and its possible it can come back with more problems than it went with??????? Can't believe I've only just seen this thread..................class !!! :D

Problem is Gendi that usually, Greggs agents only give you a 'dog tod' dry bread roll while the pasty's being sorted, and you have to pay for your own butter.

disturbing community news.

it looks like the prophet jimh was indeed right when he spoke the words - who the fcuk would wear a ginsters fleece? the ginster's shop is closed. gutted.

i mooched on by looking for a nice photo of a pasty... no joy, but very odd don't you think, that all the pasties on the ginsters site are photographed and shown still in their packet. actually maybe not.

Jinder, you had to be there mate. Funnay at the time. We had a spate of transiet folks asking EXACTLY the same questions. I pumped up the analogy to food and the nutters on the site took it from there. Its tickles me still, humbles me how funny & friendly the folks on here are and I'm slightly proud to have been part of it. Its a real fast show sketch. But you had to be there ! :D
