I noticed that quite a few of you on here have been bitten by the Track day bug and might want to take your driving that bit further. Over at http://www.seloc.org we will be organising a Sprint championship this year. A sprint is basically a track event where you do a lap alone against the clock. It is a pretty cheap form of motorsport as A) No competitors to contact, B) Licence is paid for, no ARDS required/medical etc C) No silly entrance fees and D) Classes to suit each car- you won't get put in directly against Single seaters, etc!

For further details:
http://forums.seloc....ent.php?eid=500
Event Information

http://www.msauk.org..._Licence64k.pdf Paperwork to get a licence (Non-race national B, apply on the day)

http://forums.seloc....d.php?tid=40696
Proban race suits with 20% off

http://www.graham-wa...alsh_sprint.wmv
A Noble on the course

http://www.c7mle.co..../andy-run-3.wmv
A Caterham on the course

http://www.aqualifel...es/NW130205.wmv
Fishy dave giving it large and some handsome fella getting excited with his brakes!

Aside from the proban (or better) suit you'll need a BS Type A helmet (from any Motorbike shop) but no fancy shoes/gloves etc.

Its a fun way to get the thrill of competition without the enormous bills of Circuit racing. Come and show us what you are made of!

The point scoring events will be at North weald Airfield.
The events will be approx £55 a time to enter so once you've factored in the suit, etc over the series then it cheaper than Trackdays!

Any questions you have can be answered,
on SELOC- http://forums.seloc....ent.php?eid=501
or nigel.leech@seloc.org

Someone with a blue VX turbo has just sigend up. Anyone here? Doubt you'll be in class A, more likely to be in the same class as the 111R (B?).

Practice runs start at 9, proper runs probably at about 10:30 maybe. Break for lunch some time around 12:30 for an hour (that's a guess) and then some more runs till about 3/4ish. Things might go a bit quicker as I think there are less people this time. I guess 1ish probably wouldn't be a bad time to pop down for an hour or so to catch some action. You can probably just blag your way in but I'll send you a PDF of the entry pass before I go to bed this evening in case you decide to come. I'm allowed a couple of support vehicles etc but I'm going by myself. To be honest the passes are more for non Elise/VX barges but it doesn't do any harm to have one.

Results..... I'll just say that Mick and I both picked up trophies :groupjump: Get in! I'm off to the gym for a jacuzzi and sauna to relax as I'm covered in bruises and feel totally battered after caning the VX for two days solid. Full results, writeup and pics later along with some quality video footage
