i dont understand how it moves front and back with the engine? unless you are relying on the metal flex? if you ad the poly inserts it probably doesnt matter tho..

That silicone pipe is FAR more flexible than most stuff bolted between engine and solid ground. I reckon 2-3inches of movement would be easily absorbed by the silicone tubing.

Did it need changing? The root of your brake problems at LM?

I suspect so.

I've a nasty feeling it wasn't replaced with the correct one at recall. I know it had the recall because i took it there. I also remember looking at the shiny new pipe, but it never had the red striping on it, and the one i have is showing signs that it may be collapsed in places. also the ends were not looking great. I'm also replacing the valve and the short bit that goes to the connector on the mani/SC

the cost of the new pipe from the servo at the front the valve at the rear was reasonable at 30quid or so. The bit that goes from the valve to the SC/Mani which is no longer than 20cm is 70quid!(i bought it anyway  ).

I like them. I've not been here long enough to know my wheels. What are they?

OZ Super Turismos (1 of 50sets iirc) Sold a while ago through TMS, no longer in production. Lightest VX wheel I think. JG just had them refurbished at Lepsons in Swindon.

Gloss Black. Think he's got the stickers on order to label them up correctly.

As Lee says, Gloss black by Lepsons. was going to go silver and chickened out at the last minute.

They are the same as my Speedlines:

now then, i'm down to tyre choices Do I: Put A048s on the OZs, AD08s (or R1R) on the Speedlines for less clemant track days and keep the bridgestones (which are a couple of years old but haven't done any miles) for very wet (as if i'd even venture out) Or do I: Put AD08s (or R1R) on the OZs and KU31s on the speedlines, and accept that a small dent in performance on track means that i shouldn't worry too muck about getting there. The speedlines would be defauld road wheel. the Bridgestones would never get used All this on the back of the fact that I went to Anglesey in the wet with A048s this year and survived, and then went to Le Mans with them too in the wet and survived.

I've got three sets of wheels (well four, if I count the originals). The three sets of TD's have one set of KU31's, one set of R1R's and one set of R888's. The theory of that was to save the R888's for dry or mostly dry trackdays, the R1R's for wet (or uncertain) trackdays and the KU31's for plain old road driving where there were no trackdays on the immediate horizon. The reality is, the KU31's haven't been near the car since I got the R1R's, which have become the default choice for anything other than dry or mildly moist trackdays. They also become the choice for uncertain forecasts like this years Le Mans trip. I'd rather sacrifice the ultimate lap record (like I could ever get two consecutive laps within a second of each other, anyway  ) for the reassurance of being able to handle more extreme conditions on the way there, back, etc. Do I compromise my 100 miles on track for the 1000 miles to get there and back? Or do I compromise the 1000 miles getting there and back for the 100 miles of track time? Having driven through some torrential rain on the autoroute on the way home, I was much happier that I was on tyres that could cope with more than 1mm of standing water - though I still had to slow down to about 45mph due to the total fog out on the windows at one point. That said, some fairly well knackered rear 888's managed to handle some pretty serious standing water on the way back from Anglesey this year. With care. Ultimately, I'd rather have the R888's on 90% of the time but, they're just wasted for 90% of that time and too expensive these days to run day-to-day, with more mundane driving. Stick the AD08/R1R's on your Speedlines and use them as your regular tyre. thumbsup

I agree, but i enjoy the feel of the 48s so much in the dry that i think i'll go for the 48s on the OZs and AD08s on the speedlines. thumbsup
