Ah, thats exactly where i was going to put it. Going to use that dash of yours i've had for about three years. Is there a big enough hole behind the dash there? It came with the additional GPS Ariel as a freebee, so guess you have that mounted at the front somewhere.

There's a cut-out in the aluminium panel behind which needs opening up a bit to suit but nothing a hacksaw blade couldn't handle. My external GPS antenna just pops up from beneath the dashboard cover about midships at the base of the windscreen. Always seems to have decent satellite coverage there as it can "look" straight up to the sky through the screen. Dash cover is currently out of the car and I'm toying with trimming a recess out of the underside for it to sit in and be totally invisible. Reckon it'll happily pick up a GPS signal through a couple of mm's of foam (based on how deeply the satnav antennae in the Audi is buried inside the dash). The theory was when I wasn't using the box, I'd remove it and swap the unmolested dash panel back in to cover the hole but I've never removed it since it went in.

What did you use for that? Looks good and would help with the paint chips you collect over time.

Beat you all then. Did mine about 4 years ago but it was just another thing that started to p!ss me off when removing/refitting the diffuser, so it went the same way as some of the other fittings that came with it. :beat:

Abingdon MSE track day today. Good to see Martin, Lauren and Mark.

First outing for the car since supercharging, new brakes, and host of other things. Unsurprisingly it flagged a couple of issues. The least important seems that its quite easy to cook ds2500 brakes (not really a surprise)., even though they are fantastic up to then

The second sounds like it may need slightly more thought and larger intervention.

Third gear, approaching the fastest, left hand corner of the track around 5.5k rpm, maybe 6k, i got what felt like a misfire, which would then pick up again as the corner opened up.
Tank had at least 17L (real - not on the guage), so it wasn't exactly near empty. There was also a pretty nasty smell in the car which definitely smelled engine related. It was so strong i even wondered if something wasn't on fire (which it wasn't) but it was pretty acrid and smelled of hydrocarbons.

Finally, i also have a P1171 lean code.

I've heard and 5OC confirmed, that the symptoms of valve resonance on supercharged cars can be similar to what i've described above.

Any views?

Was it the polish burning off the manifold? On a serious note, I hope you find an easy solution.
