Didn't have a huge amount of time to play with it today. But got: -The undertrays off -The CC header tank out -The gearbox breater out -The gear cables out -The hand brake cable off -The shear panel out -The seats out -The rear panel out What a pita getting the tank out is. I've disconected the pump wires and fuel lines to the canister. That bit was easy. Haven't decided what to do with the canister yet, whether to leave it in and drop the tank with it, or take it out through the cut out. Then the other side looks quite a lot more complicated. There are four pipes to the top of the tank. The main one which goes to the filler has two jubilee clips, one seems just about accessible, the other impossible. The two smallest pipes go to the charcoal canister, they look just about ok. Then the final one, which is the middle size goes to a white elbow on the filler, that also has a jubliee clip which looks impossible to get to. They'll be fun tomorrow.

The interior is fine as it is for the time being, it will form part of a future upgrade. It needs £2k throwing at it though, which is just too much given what has been spent on it in recent months. And Vocky's new steering wheels feels  thats all it really needed. First thing is to the get the tank in. which has to be done buy the end the BH.

Actually that was pretty painless, by the time the charcoal canister was out of the way, they all became visible.

Now about to drop the tank.

if you are going to dave the trimmer, get the sills done in leather and then padded on the side where your knee hits, it has made driving my car so much more enjoyable. if you remember that demo model of the vx with the all biscuit interior, look at the sill, that is what i had done0 and i did mine first i would like to add, damn lotus copying my design :)

i think about £280 but i had the dash done, the vents flocked (i would highly reccomend this), the speedo cover done, door cards done and the triangles in leather done. oh, and the dask plates as well. so the value got added in there somewhere!

it all mathches up really well, i went black on everything and a cadbury purple stitching; dave really did a great job and it transforms the inside of the car to make it look a lot more modern. I had three layers of memory foam padding and a normal foan in the part where you knee would hit against in cornering, it really makes long journeys a lot nicer. I recently drove kurtverbose's vx turbo with the standard sills and i had forgoton how much of a change iot was.

You'll need to have the sill covers lacquered even if its matt or satin lacquer. Epoxy isn't UV stable and it'll degrade over time.

New tank in :) all wired and plumbed and has 15L of fuel in it thumbsup. Its all pretty easy (with Joe on the end txts, for confirmations) Some bits are a bit of a ball ache. The worst being the reconnection of the fuel lines to the pump canister. One of the lines is really really tight. And fitting the pump canister to the new tank is a bit challenging too (I stuck the seal in the freezer of a couple of hours). Reconnecting the gear cable bracket wasn't fun either. Thats as far as i got in the end. The week end just ran away. will only take a couple of hours to have it all done.

Good work. Not something I'd want to tackle after the fun and games replacing one my fuel lines (that got broken when the tanks were swapped over) and that bloody metal O ring/seal.

The thing i was most worried about was fuel vapour. It was very hot in the garage so, after making sure there wan't anything in there that could spark I undid all the fittings to the tank, but didn't break the connections until the last minute before tank came out.

That Metal circlip is a pain:
