In this case a vet wouldn't have beeen very useful.

That bad!! I'm surprised the Vx hasn't got more damage! I suppose the all the wax on it provided some protection ;)

It was luckly that the dog bounced, and i didn't put a wheel over it, because i'm fairly sure that would have caused a lot more damage.

It will :) The only shame is that it was an excellent clam, no bubbling and not a single rusty/stiff bolt (something i've not seen on any other vx for a while)

Can you keep or buy back the clam?

Be a very easy repair for someone I'm sure.

Incidentally who are you insured with James ? Just that I remember a post a whole back about a certain insurer not taking new VX customers on due to the claims they had relating to them.

They'll just chuck the old clam in the bin so worth an ask for sure.

CCI (Aviva) - Combination of being delightful and uterly useless to deal with. I've had to be my own management company otherwise nothing would be happening quickly.

No.

It won't be 'CAT' classified at all, only written off cars are 'CAT' classified thumbsup

Sorry to read that about your car James! Brilliant news that it's getting dealt with swiftly and through the insurance though. Do you have a say in which bodyshop to use? Good luck and have fun with getting it back to A1 condition :)

James, it is very similar to the damage on mine many years ago (2005 i think). As long as they get a good colour match and prepare the new clam correctly all will be ok. Also try to get the clam from the appointed bodyshop (appointed by you i hope?) afterwards since you could attempt to repair it yourself over time & keep as a spare. This is what i did since the bodyshop was just going to cut it up and skip it
