Same as that. PSR picked it up when they serviced mine before the National. Said they'd seen it on a few SC cars so guess it's crankcase pressure related and pushing up past the two O rings on the dipstick.

Yep, had the same. Paul at PSR spotted it and had to replace the O rings as mine was pushed out and breathing oil onto the undertray.

It turns out that a dog comes under personal property laws but cats don't! So if you're going to hit anything, hit a cat

Does that mean you can claim off the owner for the damage that the unleashed dog did when running across a road causing an accicent?

And that is proberly what happened with JG. A car was seen in the Layby and drove off as soon as the dog was hit. Nice person eh

Yes, it should do. If you're heartless enough to sue the person who's pet you've just killed.

Fair point :)

I must confess I'm not sure whether I would or not

I am fine with people having dogs, but don't want to hear them, step in their crap, or have them run out in front of me on an A-road. :)

(If JG had been on a motorbike he may well be dead)

Playing devils advocate, what about cyclists? Do horse riders? How about pedestrians?

Cyclists should and horse riders should. The key word here is should. As a dog owner your dog's actions are your responsibility. Most pet insurance policies provide public liability cover in any case. If the dog were to cause harm to another person or cause an accident on the road, then as I understand the law the owner is responsible for the damages and is therefore financially liable.
