Interesting...
2 different (brands?) of rear hubs used? One seems like an OEM (SKF) one with the thick centering flange for the wheel, the other seems like it has a much thinner wall like the 4-bolt versions have..
The axle stub seems to extend a lot further on one, but I guess the pictures were taken when these weren't torqued up yet (don't see a split-pin through the castle-nuts either).
Oh.. I'm not familiar with these toe links so it may be different on these..
But on my Elise if you have the straight M10 bolt type (not the tapered M12 like the VXT and late N/A's) on the outer/upright side then the tapered spacer is usually mounted the other way around. The 'thick' end should then fit (with perhaps a little fettling) inside the recess of the upright.
Again.. Perhaps this kit works differently but I fitted a few from various manufacturers to Elises and VX'es and they all seem to use the same construction.
Bye, Arno.

i used standard shocks for the 'locking in' of the new std bushes.
Can you explain this a bit more to me please

Cheers Chris, makes sense.Tim,
IIRC JG wants a standard ride height so instead of using the nitrons which hadnt been set up he used standard shocks.
In terms of 'locking in' the bushes when tightening it is advised to do it with the wishbones at the level they would be when the car is sat on its wheels. The theory behind it is that if they are torqued with the wishbones drooping then the when lowered back to the ground the bushes will be twisted.

I can see what you mean with the toe link, but the spacer is amberglass shape which is why you think it looks like a taper since half of it is in the recess of the upright.
Ah.. That's different then in this kit

Looks nice and clean.. For now.. Look again after you used it for a few weeks

Bye, Arno.

Passed - No advisories.
It was quite nice to hear the MoT man say it was better than new that it was nice to see something done with so much pride and care

Just rolled it into the garage to take it all apart again
