The thing i was most worried about was fuel vapour. It was very hot in the garage so, after making sure there wan't anything in there that could spark I undid all the fittings to the tank, but didn't break the connections until the last minute before tank came out.

That Metal circlip is a pain:

Not good enough (on the right):

I'm trying to do this in the car at the moment and its proving almost impossible. .had the car all back together yesterday, but had a petrol smell on test drive. turns out the seal had dropped into the tank.

I'm pretty close to dropping the tank. :(

When i fitted my tank i forgot to fit the pump out of the car. Struggled for a couple of days to get the circlip in, its so frustrating i would try for 10 mins then have to walk away. The steel clip doesnt want to slide in the ali tank nicely. Makes fitting them in the standard tanks look easy. I hope i never have to take mine out again!

it really is a fucking stupid system. What was wrong with large threaded caps that every other manufacturer uses to secure canister to tank?

I don't think it will. its quite tight to get it in.

Jez at BoT did an inspection of my lines Jimmy on Saturday. couple of things thing for you to consider. Some of the connections were a bit looser than i remembered doing them and apparently its quite common to have to do them up once and then check them all again as they can loosen.
He also put a cable tie between the brackets on the filter to stop it rotating or vibrating. then gave the system a big thumbsup :D

Some observations after 9 months off driving it. The brakes are ferocious. I'd forgotten how you can just stand on them and it just stops. doesn't really matter how fast you are going in the first place. The new exhaust is almost perfect. its a bit louder than i would like on WOT, but its no louder than the 2.2Milltek on cruise. This means I can creep back through town after a drive without waking the world and its friend up. It also means than i can hear radio 4 at 70mph :P. The tullet mani makes it sound less busy. its quieter in the engine bay than it used to be, injectors and other mechanical noised can be heard more than before. The whine is as present as it always was at higher revs and load, but does seem a bit more muted in the mid range load. It seems to have gained in torque quite a bit. 4th gear from tick over to red line really is quite eye opening. There was a comedy moment yesterday evening. I've not had a valid tax disc displayed for a long time (despite being properly taxed) so before going out yesterday i went to find the envelope and duly displayed the tax disc in the windscreen. it flew away somewhere along the a4  . I did a quick u-turn and actually found it in the hedge! :D

PS. Did the valve turn up?

I did, thanks thumbsup.

I quite fancy having a go at having one made from billet aluminum. My Jubilee clips are very very tight to get a seal and i wonder if that might be due to the rubber pipes being fractionally larger than plastic pipes on the valve assembly. the result is that the plastic (which is pretty low grade, and a common cause of issues on a lot of fords) is under fairly severe pressure and will probably distort over time.

actually it will just be a bit of bling :D

Mate any chance you can measure up the diameter of the filter so I can mock something up to check..?
