Looks to me like the Evora is a considerable downgrade in terms of performance, though clearly a lot quieter and more refined. I think you'll miss the outright flingability of the VX, not to mention the fact it will barely depreciate and costs peanuts to run etc.

The evora will be cheap to run too over the period of 5 years or so due to low depreciation its just the initial outlay. The evora design is about 10years newer and will not only be better refined but much more advanced technologically. I think, rather than looking at figures on a screen I'll save judgement until I drive one because you can't put a number on feel. That reminds me.... Donkey owes me a drive of his.

Right up until the time it needs a clutch!!

On the early Evoras there was a gear box issue due to the Toyota conversion.

Correct, it was a mistake made by the factory on early cars which lead to premature wear. Now that the cars concerned have been fixed the clutch will last no less than normal. I just had my interim 37k service and it was £375. That goes some way to offsetting the eventual clutch replacement cost Imho. Bob - welcome to have a shot anytime

It looks no more complicated to work on than a vx. Just keep unbolting stuff

broken Cornering Force ARB and its new replacement. Went with CF again which is a completely different design now (and which very slightly subsidised from the former one breaking)

Not a fan of the colour change, it won't match your other now will it?

I think its accentuated by the light, the new one being in the garage and the old one nearly out. In reality on the car they look very similar

How do you brake an anti-roll bar?

Was it replaced under warranty, I thought you were trying not to spend on the VX anymore?

It was not replaced under warranty. I was given a small discount on a new one. It was four years old.

I didn't have much choice, I think it went at spa.

How to you break it? well that was quite an early one and the answer is fatigue. It broke along the welds that hold the tabs which hold the blade.

Anyway, car feels fantastic again, and the new selecting mechanism is very clever. i can dial out, or dial in understeer/oversteer exactly as i want.

Old one could probably be re-welded for about £20, if you wanted to claim some money back

Your's too? Fcuk it, that's it, mine is coming off and going in the bin to pre-empt it happening somehwere at some time I'd rather it didn't. The Nitrons can probably go with it.

Having seen how James treats his car (very very well) and how much the CF stuff cost, I was very disappointed to hear how little they seemed to care! thumbsdown

Its still the best handling vx i've ever driven.

Customer service could have been better in this case.
