There are a lot of people on the VXR parts thread in the for sale section who look like they missed out on the set that went on Ebay last night .. albeit for, IMO, way too much £££ ..maybe, just maybe, there may be a company out there who'd like to do us a nice deal if we can get a few orders together If we can get a list of interested parties together that would be s start, in conjuction with the Nitron group buy there must be a company out there who want's our business - could be talking a lot of £££ here for someone willing to do a deal. Any takers? Adam

Have contacted a few major wheel compaines about doing replacement wheels and none would touch them after I told them it was for a VX. :beat: Probably not enough demand

..prefer the VXR wheels personally, and this is aimed at the shedload of people who pretended they weren't interested in the VXR wheels on Ebay until the auction was over :D

I have spoken with David W at Speedline who was involved in the original VXR project and asked about doing a group buy on the Speedlines. The current situation is, as we all know Vauxhall/Lotus asked Speedline to produce a batch of rims for the VXR's. Vauxhall also asked Speedline to create a batch of aftermarket rims, the same as the VXR ones that could go on sale to the public. Speedline produced both the production batch for the VXR’s, a second batch for after market purchases. So Vauxhall own all the current stocked Speedlines and they asked Speedline to store the additional wheels the main warehouse in Telford and distribute. As Vauxhall own the wheels, Speedline can’t offer any discount on the £700.00 Inc VAT and carriage. :( But, David from Speedline is going to contact Stu Harris to see if there is mileage in pursuing a group buy/discount on the wheels. Hopefully this makes sense, I will keep you informed but it may take a few days/weeks to get a response. thumbsup

I'd be interested in a deal on these! Does anyone know how do they compare to the OZ wheels in terms of weight?

THe VXR wheels are same weight as standard so 10.5kg's each, the Oz's are 7/8kgs respectively (the reason why we sorted them tbh). Oz wheels on their own are £799. Will update shop with a few bits and pieces soon I hope (when I get the time) :(

This is no sales ploy for Thorney, but the OZ wheels really transform the handling of the car some what, due to them being a lot lighter than standard turn is is 10 times better and more direct feel. PS the Toyo's are a very good ROAD tyre, just rather shite on track. :P

Cheers John, looks liek that's what I need to save for then!

I assume I have to also buy the lotus hubs as well to move to the oz wheels?

shame the speedlines aren't lighter as they fit straight on i believe?

Nope, OZ fit straight on. Lotus Hubs only required for the Speedline Turinis (silver multispokes)
