Went to get two new rears on Sat, after ordering them last week. I had been on the phone twice, and also emailed them the exact spec of the Bridgestones, taking into account the W speed rating now. They confirmed they would get the exact spec I gave them, and it was the vx220 tyre. Arrived Saturday morning. All young lads messing around as i truned up (employees). I thought that I had been young once and fair play if they do a good job i'm not bothered. This kid then jacks up the car after I told him where to do it as he didn't have a clue. He gets wheel off and goes to put new tyre on. Another young lad then comes along and starts jacking the car up from other side. I was sttod inside on phone. When saw what he was doing I dashed outside and asked him to put my car down. By this time he had already pointed out to his mates that all four wheels were off the ground and the car was teetering. By this time I just wanted the tyres done. The lad comes back with wheel in hand. I asked to see the trye and hey it was a 91w - the wrong tyre. After the lad saying it doesn;t matter and me saying it does, the boss came out. He admitted it was the wrong tyre and he would order the correct one in! he said that the wrong ones came initially and they were sent back. All the more reason to check them the second time then! I asked them to put my old tyres back on and left. I was treated then like a pubic hair in soap. IMO they were p*ssed off that I had noticed what they were doing. They told me they would get the right tyres in for Monday......Hmmmm will I take my car back there????? In the past I have always used them for all my cars but no more. When I took the car elsewhere in Wigan I was told that the guy who owns Pemberton Tyres has been in an accident and is not at work. It really shows. I will not be going back. Anyway, ill stand down off my soap box now. Lets see if I can get these tyres elsewhere!

Another pie-eating gobshite here :D I've had a lot of dealings with Pemberton tyres over the last 6 years and have had no problems They changed my fronts without any hassle and i trusted them to fit the Yoko's on my new OZ alloys, which they did without leaving even the tiniest mark on the wheels. I wouldn't have trusted kwik-fit with that job. Back when i had the scooby they sold me a set of Radius alloys which started bubbling after 11 months. Alan(the boss) argued my case with the suppliers to get me a brand new set and when they insisted the wheels be sent back to Italy for inspection he lent me a new set of 17" alloys to keep the car on the road in the meantime. Obviously while the cats away the mice will play Not knowing the jacking points is not the crime of the century but trying to lift both sides at once, what the fu** :beat: I think the moral of the story is don't go when the boss is away :(

Went to Wigan Tyres in the end! They were great. Took their time doing tyres and they were exactly the right ones (dot rating and all). Didn't use the electric guns and took wheels off with normal sockets. they didn't jack the car up on both sides. Can't praise these guys enough. No damage to alloys either. Treated car as if their own. Smallish outfit but good fellas. Also if you display the wigan tyes car sticker they will give you free puncture repairs! Charged £111 a piece. No too bad really.
