Do I get it? 2 reasons. Firstly does it make the car too noisy on motorways? Main reason, UK tracks are getting more and more anal on noise limits. I got kicked off two in the Caterham (105db's) and I hear Rockingham etc is lowering theirs to 89 db's. Does the Vauxhall sports exhaust and/or the Regal one kick out more than that?

yeah, I'm interested too...is regal louder than VX-sport? I was thinking to gut my stock one and rework the innards...will look he same outside, wih much better flow and sound. (and cheaper than a new one)

Its probably not a good idea to mod your standard exhaust as you might have problems when you car needs a mot! :) Steve V.

no prob. in Italy, as long as the emissions are ok (re-install the kat...) and it's not TOO loud...

Any exhaust apart from the standard is 'NOISY'. The Regal system is simply awesome (I have one...) I've also had the Vauxhall Sports exhaust & the Vauxhall standard exhaust. The Vauxhall Sports exhaust makes a lovely noise, but in my case, did not add any BHP. The standard does not generate enough noise. So you have to weigh up the pros and cons and decide whether you want to drive around in stealth mode, or have a blaring, no-holds barred sports exhaust system which may or may not annoy you on long motorway drives. There are a few VX's here in C. London. Without the sports exhaust, they simply look great on the road - but with it - they LOOK & SOUND great. My advice is go for the upgrade (REGAL!) and if you don't like it - just put the standard one back on. Regards, E.E P.S I'm not sure what kind of DB's the sports exhausts emit, but i know that they ARE loud and may not pass some of the tracks noise tests.

Have you got Regal's url there, I cant find it from last time I saw it. Mine will be tracked pretty extensively so the db limit is pretty important so I'll need to ask them.

having experienced a sweet increase in performance from removing kat+pre-kat, I would estimate around 7/8hp, I would suggest to do so along with the exhaust, otherwise performance gains will be negligible. the pre-kat, a real thick mesh "cork" for the gases, can be ripped out for good, won't affect emissions since itt's there only for cold start emissions. yes, how much is the regal muffler again?

hi all!! happy christmas!! so who would like to experience the regal system? as i have a few days off now i am thinking of just driving!! ;) i am even toying with driving over to paris for a day!! ( providing i can get a ferry or eurostar!!) Regal will be doing the next phase of upgrades in the new year.....full koni adjustable sports suspension upgrade and all being well an inlet manifold by dbilas!! this i think will be of interest to those who do not wish to have a turbo upgrade! regal will be using my car as the test bed for the turbo upgrade! only down side on this that my car may be off the road for upto 2 months while its being developed....... :( by the way ...regal have their own chip upgrade along with a superchip upgrade! i have used both and all i will say is ask for their own as it makes the engine really smooth and strong!! the reason for this is that superchips makes 140 changes to the software whilst regals tuner has made 400+ changes ( ellie knows what i am talking about!!) hope to hear from you all steve

Hi Thorney I drove a total of 315 miles on Boxing Day (sports exhaust). A lot of it was on motorways running around 70 - 85+mph. It was a bit noisy, but the wife could still tell me off for going too fast :D She even fell asleep at one point (probably caused by the hammer) MalcolmD
