Oh kick a man when he's down why don't you. Sounds like another attack of colour prejudice. IMHO the car transcends colour. You could paint it vomit and we'd still be drooling over it's handling. Mind you you could have gone for Europa Blue like the more refined among us(TIC)!

Well I like yellow VXs poof Had a hectic couple of days not managed to have a winge on here yet. Fcuking car. The car has been in Lookers in Sellyoak for some warranty body work to be done, after waiting for 2 months for the parts to arrive. I was having the inside bit of the sill done as it was cracking at the trailing edge of the door. Just below the paint sticker thingy. Anyhow, that was sorted so went to collect the car on Saturday. Good to get rid of the Corsa! (But it has been quite usefull as a Pub car!) Just driving out of the garage on to the road - BANG - WTF??? Fortunately the Lights were on red, so I open the door and reach round to the rear wheel and feel the gap between the wheel and the arch - What gap? Fcuk. The dreaded bolts had sheared. The shims that adjust the camber (I think) were lying on the road along with the bolt head. All the cars weight, on that corner, is now going throught the inner arch and back end of the sill. What a PITA. But how lucky.... If they had gone 10 mins later I would have been on the Motorway. Does not bare thinking about. :( The car was spotted on the way to Lookers at Star City, Sellyoak aparrently don't have a VX specialist on the mechanical side there this week so it had to go there. Dragging the car on to the AA truck didn't do the bodywork many favours, but they got it on. Getting it off at Star City was harder, but at least they had a 'rollerskate' to fit to the wheel to stop it eating up more of the bodywork. Now though, the hard bit. Getting VXL to admit they are responsible for the repair. I recon that there is probably around £800-1000 worth of damage. I really think VX should be doing somthing about this problem. :beat: It is lucky that nobody has been killed by these bolts being sub-standard. How many others on here have had this happen? I would advise that anybody having Geo done should have the higher stregnth bolts fitted as a matter of course to save any further pain, injury or worse. :grouphug:

FJ - So sorry to read this. As you know I was the original owner. I feel for you matey. :( Hope VX get this sorted out to your 100% satisfaction. Surely enough of these have gone bang now to warrant some sort of action on Vauxhall's part? Could I also suggest you post a link to this thread under the main discussion section. Not everyone reads the spotted section and its important people are aware how often this seems to be happening.

Sorry to hear that... Must be very  Is it possible to have a photo of the part of the suspension that's failed - seems about time we all had a look to see if there's anything amiss here. Currently I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for.

I believe it is the capscrews shown in the pic below. I know that Horizon have the high tensile ones on stock. Oh and thanks for the pic to Mike at project VX!! ;)

Is this an easy DIY change? Are they just caphead bolts that need changing to Higher Tensile capheads? Is it specific to particular VIN's/Turbo/Na??
