And fatbaldbloke posted a Unipower. Apparently the other thing about their Mini front subrames mounted at the back was that the steering arms were just welded solid ... but every so often one would come 'unglued' and you'd get more rear end steering than you knew what to do with. What's this lowline car that I believe was a predecessor of the Unipower? And who on earth was it named after?

Lancia Fulvia Coupé

The headlamps had to be raised for the UK to comply with lamp height regs, creating a lump in the bonnet line.

Don't know who, don't know when –can only offer that it is based on a Fiat 500 and has front-hinged doors, so is a later model (500F?). The non-standard grille at the front would imply some tuned version, but again, no idea what.

So, basically I know nothing!

As for the Unipower predecessor: I know where the name Unipower comes from (from the fork-lift truck makers, Universal Power Drives, who helped with the project). But again, I didn't know the Unipower even had a direct predecessor

Just trying to keep the thread alive :D

BTW, anyone got any ideas yet on that little heavily-cambered one I posted?

I'm trying, I'm trying, but guessed only the Duesi so far from the still to be resolved lot. The little red one it's Fiat 500 based, but I cannot recognize the oversized badge in front, similar to a Giannini but not one I think... The cambered car is giving me a brain meltdown, some clue pls? :P Is it a obscure manufacturer or a famous one (or based on)? Country? anything... That front is familiar to me but I can't get it. We must clean sweep befoe posting new ones me thinks

It's UK, better known than many and not a firm you would expect to utilise the mass manufacturer mechanicals this car has.

Is it this one? Zanetti, Italian Championship 1966, Giannini 500 TV?
