I'll give you a clue. We've already had the manufacturer on this thread.

The 911 GT1 replica is a Farboud. Couldn't get one so he built it himself (has since sold is company to someone else who is putting the GTS into production)... "Well respected manufacturer hitting the hard times." Can only think of BMW and Isetta, but doesn't look like any I know...

One of the most pointless cars ever produced. There's a bonus point if you can explain why they even bothered.

I think JimH's pointless car is a Panther Rio which is a Dolomite Sprint in drag. Why did they bother? 'Cos the late Robert Jankel always made money almost whatever he did - a real fall in the dungheap and come up smelling of roses bleeder! The toy car is an Allardette, isn't it?

Close. It's an Allard Clipper.

There literature showed the car out of all proportion to the occupants. It gave the impression that the car was the same size as an XK120. I don't think many were built before they called it a day.

Correct. I think there were 72 of these ali bodied creations built. He can't have made much money on that, surely?

£1 WHSmith voucher on its way to you Jim!

My parents had a thing about choosing slightly strange/rare cars. Dad had an MGC and there aren't many of them left now. He crashed it twice - once his fault, once not his fault. They bought a Polo Formel E thing that you turned itself off in traffic jams or something

It has the look of something that Pegasso might produce.
