edit to add. it was very refreshing to see a movie with cannonballs that didn't explode on impact. god, that kinda stuff bugs me.

The book is amazing and unsurprisingly the film doesn't do it justice. If you enjoyed (if that is the correct word) may I recommend This Accursed Land by Lennard Bickel or Mawson's Will by the same author. With the greatest respect to Messers Simpson and Yates the story of Douglas Mawson's ill fated antartic trek makes their outing look like a sunny, sunday stroll.Touching the Void - Unbelievable
