been putting it off after my mate watched it.Irreversible - Disturbing (anybody else watched this?)
is it harder than requiem (sp) for a dream? - sounded like it.

Haven't watched Requiem so can't really comment, but Irreversible is one disturbing film!been putting it off after my mate watched it.Irreversible - Disturbing (anybody else watched this?)

My biggest recommendation is to not watch it with female company - I for one would not like for my girlfriend/mum/sister to see it.
Monica Bellucci's acting in parts is exceptional - as good as I have seen. If you watch it, you'll know the parts that I mean!

I've never read the book, nor do I intend to (I just don't have the patience!), and so the films are just pure genius to meLOTR is an odd one to somebody raised on the book like me. I guess it would have to be 50 hours long to use an accurate screenplay though, so I shouldn't moan.

I just can't come to terms that there's no real underlying message to the film - Tolkien wasn't having a go at industry/politics' etc, he was just writing a bloody good story!
Whilst I don't think it would be right to place both in the same category, both Tolkien and Jackson are true geniuses IMHO.
I'll be saddened to see the end of 'The Return of the King' - it means an end to what I regard the best films of all time

Or are we going to see 'The Hobbit' as a film in a few years time?!

Agree with you there mate, it should be called "LOTR - An Abridged Treatment."LOTR is an odd one to somebody raised on the book like me. I guess it would have to be 50 hours long to use an accurate screenplay though, so I shouldn't moan.
Celluloid Tolkien fans will never hear about Tom Bombadil for instance.
Still a breathtaking movie though...
Kit Ramsay: We're trying to make a movie here, not a film!
Bowfinger, 1999
