Webcons dyno had it measured at 215bhp running on a 85% finished map.

At what RPM and what torque?

No, there are two basic kits, one for a standard car and one for a stage 3 car with ported heads and cams. The kits are the same price for both, the only difference is the inlet port sizes, the ECU mapping and a few other proprietary bits.

So does this mean that if your doing it in stages (on a budget), theres not much point* putting the TBs on then later on deciding to go down the cam/ headwork route?

*when I say not much point I actually mean, would it be better to do the cams/ headwork first, then when funds allow add the TB's?

Either really. THe TB kit does include an ECU and a different map so that duplicates a stage 3 to some extent but mechanically there's no duplication.

I think what the previous poster meant was (and I was thinking about the same today) - since the inlet ports are different on the 'stage 3' TB kit, if I decide to do the TB's first and then the cams/headwork, will there be a possible (cost effective) upgrade path?

Also, will the kit + base map be available for DIY for those of us unfortunate enough to be too far away from UK? (I am really really tempted to put a deposit on a kit, when will production start? :) )

The port differences are there but not massive to be honest so its more down to mapping. Yes it will be a DIY fit (we've yet to write the fitting instructions) but appreciates there is a fair bot of demand in Europe so we need to make it self fit. The kit will be complete. They are already in production.

Will both kits be self fit John? i.e. Could any suitably equipped place do the porting?

Yeah, £350 for each too

Seriously though, surely it's time for some draft spec/prices if they are in production.

Or at the least the specs/power expectations of the kits that will be available?

We want to fit the kits to a couple of cars and use the dyno charts from all of them before we announce intricate details, no point just using one car its not representative of what the kit can do, but yes its in prodcution as we all think its perfect.

Sure you can.

Depends a bit on the hose diameter, but ITB setups usually still use a plenum setup where the air is drawn in through one big airfilter and then distributed to the TB's.

Separate air filters on each TB is not that useful in a mid-engined setup as you end up sucking in lots of hot air from under the hood. Less of an issue in front engined cars, or cars where the TB's stick through the hood (eg. often on seven clones).

Bye, Arno.

Would the car look too modified and would it gain to have intakes mounted on a snorkel, like some of the MR2 tuners do?

Would there be any gain doing this?

Thorney, do you need to chop up the original engine loom or is the new wiring complete  I have the chance to pick up a spare engine loom, so will I need it :tumble:

No, we actually keep the existing loom and use the stock ECU for things like rev counters etc. The Alpha N unit is only used to control fueling etc.

Are we talking a few weeks or a few months until details/prices are released to the masses for general sale?? It would be nice to have a TB'd car in time for the nice weather next year if the figures stacked up :)

Hi John, Once they are available in self fit kit's what level of machanical competency would you need to install it. On a scale of 1-10 lets say? Thanks
