Ahh but have you modified your bike? Im jsut saying Yamaha calimed X power at x rpm, but when the bikes were put on the rollers, they only revved to just under 16k.. Yet showed like 18k on the rev counter.

I've got a lot of mixed reviews of teh R6, many people i know don't like the new style looks, personnally, i do, i like the new R6 and GSX-R, but i still see an awful lot of them. I'll see 2-3 of each every day just coming home from work.

Im not going to argue with you mate because you obviously believe what you read, But ive worked in the motorcycle industry for quite a while [for yamaha/suzuki] and covered alot of dyno runs on both GSXR and R6

Yes Yamaha did claim 17500, and yes i have seen some R6 rev cleanly to 17500.. others have only managed
16500  ..never have i seen one show more than whats indicated. thumbsup

Do a google video search for them.. you'll see what i mean.. beside 16500 revs is more than enough :P

And yes my bike has been modified ;)

Just reading back a few posts, I wouldn't bad mouth someone who wanted to ride a harley or a custom, I probably wouldn't buy one but I respect someone who did as a fellow biker. It's not the same as car drivers, anyone/everyone can/will drive a car but with a few exceptions those that ride bikes do so because they love biking. Doesn't matter whether it's a dirt bike or sports bike. In fact it seems to me that those riders I've met who depise people who ride bikes that aren't the same as theirs generally have very large egos and, I suspect, very small c*cks.

Richie, can I ask why you are intrigued by fellow bikers c*ck sizes??

Dont tell me your a closet harley fan! poof

And before anyone pipes up with any smartarse comments, yes I have a large ego and yes, I also have a small penis! Spooky eh! :D

Can I also point out that Harleys are very rarely ridden (in the uk anyway.) by "proper" bike enthusiasts! They tend to be far more popular among the mid-life crisis brigade, than the true bikers! Their friends (also in mid-life crisis) will be far more impressed when they hear how mr middle management/IT consultant has a Harley rather than something mundane like a Honda! WOW!

Also whatever depise means, I dont depise  the people, just the bikes (with good reason also!)! thumbsup

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it! (assuming you have a pipe, what with being old enough to have owned a CX an all that!) ;)

Hehe, I forgot I posted that, must have been drunk or summat, especially with the smelling pisstakes! How do you know I owned a CX? Are you stalikng me? Mmmm, or maybe I vaguely recall a list of bikes previously owned on here somewhere.

Anyway, this has been my least bikey year since I was 16 so I'm bloody well going out on the CBR as soon as I stop typing this! Been cruising ebay as well and I suspect I will have a heap of bits in the garage at some point requiring rebuilding. Should make me even more unpopular with the missus :P

Right I'm off :D

We're in the middle of renovating [house and garden] and the whole place is like a building site, It took me 10 mins to try and get a piccie without the cement mixer in... and a further 20 mins trying my very best not to involve the mini digger thats so nicely parked on a 6ft mound of mud next to the garage :P

but tons better than his crappy R6!!

ooo must have missed this thread.

ive got a wee zxr400, currently in storage and awaiting those summer days again. it's an excellent bike for its age (93) starts every time, have not modded it at all apart from fitting a uk speedo. top speed had about 130, but gets there very quickly. Would like to get it on a track come summer.

i love it :jump:
