really struggled getting my pics sharp today. quiet like this slightly wider less contrasty one too.

Really striking shots in the graveyard thumbsup

Bet you wish that post in the lower right wasn't there – did force you to compromise on the compostion a little, I think.

From the EXIF, I see you had f2.8 and ISO 100. So, is that the out-of-the-camera depth of field, or did you add some softness in post-processing? And what lens were you using?

Keep 'em coming – fantastic B&W stuff – you've really got an eye for it:) Would love to be in on a photo session, but will have to get a DSLR first.

The Finepix F30 is a great pocket camera though (you've seen these already, Paul – but not put much up on Flickr recently due to hols):

anytime mate.. not getting out enough at the mo as I'd like. When you scale images down in PS do you use bicubic, bicubic smoother or bicubic sharper? the detail your retaining is impressive!.. speedy it'll be a 70-200L 2.8, the DOF with one on a full frame slr is lovely.. alot more than my 20D (1.6x) gives with same lens.. think it's equal to 2 full stops :(

Paul I think the graveyard pic is one of the best I've seen yet. Particularly like the tight one - draws me into the picture more. Thanks for your comments on my Botswana trip - meerkats were really tough to photograph. Running after them on foot as they set out on their day's foraging it was difficult to remember to take pics rather than stand there saying "awwwwww" - they are truly cute...

That middle one in your latest batch is fantastic – magnificent even. And here the tree or whatever it is on the right is an essential part of the composition*. A very evocative shot – it so makes you want to get in and drive it thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup Worthy of poster-sized bedroom wall worship in adolescents bedrooms, IMO Imnotworthy

I'm sure you could market one of your Exige shots (if you haven't looked into that already) – we could have a forum vote to see which of your pics finds most favour. If you put them up on your .mac account or even in a thread here, it would be great just to see them all together anyway – and we could each choose a personal top shot so you can see what has the best potential. How about it? :)

*We'll agree to differ about the graveyard post in the other ones :D thumbsup

Great pics as ever Paul. Imnotworthy Can't wait to buy my new car and I'll get some B) shots with the Golden Gate in the background poof btw. I always thought when reducing the image size in PS you should go bicubic-sharper.

ian rezing at work the software I use does Sharpen on up-rez or non on downrez. Reason being you are cramming more info into a smaller area. sharpen slightly after if needed. Sat at work and these make me want to go take some pics :D :D

Great Photos! Enjoyed spending the last hour reading this thread start to finish.

Can't contribute anything like that, but I have a few photos i've been pretty pleased with over the years. Attached a couple. Comments / criticism / advice welcomed.
