Huh?You really dont get what this exige-hood does. do you?
This is a aerodynamic upgrade and not some bling to impress 14 year old girls down by McDonalds
Crossed wires here I think. I wasn't talking about the Exige style hood, I was talking about the bodykit (which I think looks great). I'm merely commenting on the double standards and how some owners get slated for daring to fit a tiny front splitter or even some carpets yet others get praised by adding a tonne of fibreglass bodykit.
Personally I love the bodykit and can't see any problem with fitting some carpets, it's other members that seem to have problems with such trivial matters.

Yeah! DJE wants it backPhilz
Try removing that chip from your shoulder before you post again
FWIW - This is hardly in the same league as 12" subs in the boot!

Good stuff.Hi!
Everything on the car has a purpose, to go faster.....
When we did the record run for a Swedish magazine the driver complained just a little bit over some understeer, it might be a case of to cold tires but it could also mean that we need
a little more downforce up front. So after some talk with people that has aerodynamic knowlege and with my own ideas the project started..
Up front we have the splitter combined with the aerofoil underneeth it, we have air-escapes both on top and behind the front wheels to get rid of the air stuck there.
The sideskirts should have a stablising effect and the Coanda ditch a bit off diffusor effect
The engine cover creates a much cleaner airflow over the car and gives the backwing an undisturbed airflow. We also have a bigger airvolume in the enginebay so it should keep cooler (with the not finnished vents), and we can scoop some air to cool the turbo...
We will also have a much bigger diffusor later on...
We will try and ballance out the front with the backwing..

Do you have any ideas on how much extra weight has been added to the car and how that might affect handling yet?

The engine cover and targa will be much lighter than the original item and the front and sides I dont now but my previous front weigted only 1.5 kg.Good stuff.Hi!

The tow eye is not ready it just stays there for now but I will let you now when its ready..Hi BAD,
Can I ask you (well yes obviously I can ask, thats what Im doing at the moment innit) how you fixed the ring at the front, because after being dragged out of the gravel once my ring is not looking good...
Best regards

I have been thinking of opening the hole but then you have to open up on the hood to..I shouldn't like it (I usually prefer stealth) but I so like it!!
It looks excellent...!! Hats off to you there.
btw. I agree with another post... keep it in white!!
Have you thought about playing with the radiator opening to get more flow through from underneath and up? That would (I believe) pull the front of the car down more if done correctly. I've seen that done on another 'project' car with great effect.
P.
You dont want the enter hole to be bigger than the exit hole.

Think what you want, it was a genuine question.Me thinks that was an attempt at sarcasm.
I've seen threads about adding tiny little front splitters (think it was a Courtney one) and they've been shot down because of their dubious ability to assist (and probably hinder) aerodynamics so I was genuinely interested in how all this fibreglass will affect the handling and weight and balance of the car.
As I understand it (from using the notorious search engine). Vauxhall/Lotus have spent millions perfecting the suspension setup, weight balance etc. of this car so adding aftermarket stuff can have a seriously detrimental effect on the car so my question was something I'm genuinely interested in knowing the answer to.

But fact is that the B.A.D. mods on last years car made the car really successful in race tests.
He generally uses light materials, carbon fibre etc.
Also he has contact with people at the SAAB design office.
So, myself I confident that this will be a stunning car, and I am really eager to see it in action.
