Think that could be a difficult one, the only car I know of that uses that type of gearstick is the Civic.

It was at the Lada Samara end of the market and there are a few I can think of that had that sort of format.
It's not built in Italy but there is a hint of Italian in it.

The funny gearstick angle says Alfetta to me, but you said not built in Italy.

Nope. It's east European.

The Italian influence means that it is mostly regurgitated Fiat.
But then, weren't they all.
Another clue. There was a top spec one in the UK which wore some very fetching Weller 8 spokes in white.
