I picked up my car from Fords of Windsor today and loved the 130 mile drive back to Middlesbrough. I'm in love already!! When I got back I started to have a look at removing the hard top but didn't want to remove anything I shouldn't. Does anyone have a guide or any advice on how to remove the thing? Also the soft top came with a large plastic trim and two smaller trims. Again, does anyone have a guide on attaching these fittings and the soft top? Thanks in advance, Gareth

Handbook can be downloaded in PDF format from the Vauxhall web site. It is dated July 2004 but not sure if much, if anything, has changed in the car since then.

Turboman had a link to it on the sticky Useful Thread Collection, but Vauxhall had subsequently moved it so the link was bust.

The torx supplied with the hardtop is next to useless. I use a T40 toHalfrauds with a rachet rahter then a screwdriver handle. It make life easier. Did you get a hardtop cover as you'll need it to store the top?

Thanks for all your help, I have managed to get a tool from halfords and have now taken the hard top off. (Thanks mal_dun and luna_s for the heads up) mal_dun - I do have a cover for the hard top. It was stashed in the boot. Been out in the vx for just over an hour - I had to drag myself back or I would have been out all day, it's such a different experience to my old cliosport. Gareth
