Looks like i had a small leak from one of the pipes on my charge cooler. Sorted now though. Is it just a normal water/antifreeze mix to top it up? Is de-ionised water any better? Or does it make no difference?

50% water/anti-freeze mix is recommended in the instructions. Also, adding water wetter is advised... but if you are topping up a leak, it won't dilute the mix too much, if this was already added thumbsup

You should use a 50/50 mix of EG Coolant preferably with OATS and deionised Water. As both of these will prevent corrosion of the rad. I have a better post on this here,
clicky.

This is good for -25 Deg C, however the more percentage water the higher the heat transfer co-efficient of the fluid, for the malasian market we speced 70/30. So if the car is not going to to see very cold condition then you could increase to this to get a bit more cooling.

Why? they're all just Eythel-Glycol based, with different addatives to inhibit corrosion.

That was the summry of a very boaring 3 hour meet i had with Valvoline.

I would if I had fitted it. AmD in Bicester did it.

Guess I should get some de-ionised water after all. Many thanks. thumbsup

If its an AmD one (ie the one I designed and use at TMS) then it shouldn't need topping up. If you're talking a small amount then use water, no point faffinf about with mixing stuff for that. If its a larger amount then I'd pressure test it to see there is a leak somewhere and these things use no water all in usage thumbsup

Thanks John. Instead of using one long piece of hose there's a section that consists of two parts held together by jubilee clips. One of them just needed tightening but I guess it leaked for a while. Coolant level is down about an inch. I'll just top it up now as the level's no longer dropping. Last time you saw the car I remember you commenting on that fact that you install them yourself ever so slightly differently compared to how they were done at AmD.

Yeah, we've changed the fitting to use less pipework and fix the CC better.
