Mine had it's MoT about a month ago - £250 to get through, so not too bad. For that I got a new centre exhaust and lambda sensor TVR is in for a service today, have a feeling that's going to cost rather more than £250..

I'll be cross if it costs more £44.50, the standard cost for an MOT. Oh and its going to a local authority testing place, so its either going to pass or fail but they can't work on it.

Guess what? The corsa Passed its MOT this morning with flying colours. Nothing required, and all for the standard 40 quid. Not bad for a 300 quid car. :groupjump: :groupjump: :groupjump:

man states the obvious--> old car that is well looked after is just as likely to pass an MOT as a new, well looked after car. just takes more maintenance thumbsup my shed's is in december, better start looking over it now :(

Ant, see other thread for shed-off! I have to say, cheap motoring (i know you have taken it a step further with chip fat but) never ceases to amaze me. cheap tax and cheap insurance, coupled with 65mpg average - 40 quid a year MOT. 5k hassle free miles (other than a radiartor, but it didn't let me down). Makes it even more suprising that anyone would want to use public transport, esp from a cost POV (other than the stating of the obvious, London, conjection etc) Welcome to the world of cheap motoring. thumbsup

shed- off seems like a good idea. will have to check the diary to see when i can fit in and call the PLANS guys, although as this is a a public forum they probably already know we plan to try to abuse their track. have to find out how much it'll cost for a few laps in the other (shed) cars ontop of the vx's. low cost motoring... the shed is proving invaluable, endless sh1t thrown in it doing up the house (interior has seen better days  ), best part of 2k miles a month, only costs so far have been for (fuel) filters as i'm still 'evolving' my filtering method. an extra £200 quid a month is a real bonus :D

Ermmm... Just got the car back, On the phone they said flying colours, but the list of advisory things makes for interesting reading. -Rear Bias unequal (easy fix) -Corrosion on Chassis (eay fix, its been on my to-do list for ages - wire brush, rust paint plus wax seal) -occasional blue smoke emission, at certain rpm. -front tyres perrished! (what was i saying above?) still, it passed :D

Ant, what is yours like in the wet? I've just had the biggest lift off oversteer moment! Funny thing is, it was quite hold-able? Might have to go and try again, I'm praticing for the shed-off :P   They couldn't make a 300quid car fun to drive* could they? * In the wet only, because at all other times its bloody awfull!

mine's horrible to drive the whole time. had a bit of a scare yesterday when i tore in to a parking space on full lock and there was a horrible ripping noise and a jerk from one of the tyres. thought i'd torn it off! generally, it tends to go round corners on it's door handles thumbsdown

mine is the same really. Getting used to the amount of slowing down before corners that is required, takes some getting used to and even then its generally a scary prospect. But on the round about earlier it was genuinly fun in a sort of :o :o  :o    :) :D  :D  :tt:   way
