Yup

I've heard pugs are good as they have a fuel preheater to keep the viscosity down.

My well informed source assures me that there is no need for a pre heating :D

Well, it can be done:

You can buy a car for £200 on the internet, drive it half way round the country with no problem what so ever. I live in guildford. I picked up the new shed in Morecambe, drove to cardiff, then Bath, then back to guilford. :D .

I went from this (which i gave to my sister):

Looks tidy James. How on earth did you find it, I've spent the weekend looking for similar on ebay.

Dunno really Lee, I occasionally plug 'corsa 1.5' into ebay and then set a limit on a few on my auction sniper. I never thought i'd win this one as there was a similar car on a 'buy it now' at £1,275 a couple of hours earlier. That said i don't know if anyone bid on it. :o I'll be honest, i set my limit at 350 thinking i'd probably get outbid and i didn't.

Ebay is really odd with all things corsa and diesel. although it might be the same with other things, i just follow the corsas more. But there can be moments where there are no cars for weeks and then then all come along at once.

this one looks good as an example

You might think that i have a affection for diesel corsas but actually they the only car (other than 106d) that are old enough to fit into the under 1600 tax bracket (100quid a year), on top of that they do a realiable 55mpg and i reguarly got 65 out of the white one. The parts are so cheap they beggar belief (£17 for a cam belt - full service for 30)

i'm rather pleased with my new one. Plus it alleviates thoughts of superchargers on the vx while I get this one in top condition. The first thing it do is throw away the Halfords hubcaps, its one of those things I can’t cope with.

I've pencilled in the day in question Ant. thumbsup I serviced the new corsa yesterday although it probably didn't need it, i've got no record of service. Oil filter fuel filter Air Filter Cam Belt Aux Belt 5L Oil 10w40 semi sythetic (to be nice to the turbo) 58 quid  thumbsup

just a word of warning James. best to fit an in-line filter before the main filter as pouring the oil in is more likely to let in impurities than when diesel is added from a pump. catches all the little bits of dust and grot before they get to the (slightly trickier to reach) main filter. plus they're cheaper than the big metal ones. i'll bring you one along when we change the belts thumbsup

Yup had a good afternoon. I'm glad we defered it. I did the red one's cam belt yesterday as woke up at 7:00 and had a change of plan for the day. well it took me bloody ages. started at 7:30 - finished at 14:00 ish. with a few breaks inbetween. Good practice for yours i suppose. i used my spare belt, so you need to get one. my local autofactor has one in stock if you haven't got one by sat. P.S i love my cover :P

They are good. Simply a bored out version of the 1.5. Very reliable and great for running on veg*. Not as powerful or as torquey as the little 1.5turbo though. My plan if the 1.5td lets go, is to fit the 1.7td from the calalier. 87 bhp and shed load of torque will actually make it both quick and incredibly frugal. *from the 30th of June there will be no tax on using veg oil to fuel road vehciles.

ive decided to go diesel, as the 1.4 is using more petrol than the vx220 ever did  if my plans are correct the corsa should pay for itself in 6 months with fuel savings alone!

I've got a new exhaust for the Polo at the grand sum of £35 for the back section :) Going to try fitting it soon, which might not seem like much to some of you, but I haven't ever really done any maintenance on my cars before :beat: I'll let you know how I get on

I'm thinking the same my 1.2 punto doesn't get that good milage as it's so gutless you've got to thrash it to get it up the hills round here.
