Good to hear some updates! Glad you got the Corsa through James, shame you're selling up though, any thoughts of another shed or will you just be in the VX from now on?

I promise I won't laugh, can't speak for the rest though. I've driven a lot of laughable sheds over the last few years, so I know what it's like! However, something upmarket.... dunno what you're after! Go on, spill the beans.

I really like them for everyday usage, the perfect compliment to the vx. Fast(ish), economical, safe and large.

It needs to be! Diesel is £1.25 a litre around here! I believe JG has his pipe and slippers next to the front door now ready for driving it.

Shed update: the citroen conked out, identified problem is a blocked cat. Car left at exhaust place in town. They quoted me £140 for the cat, £40 to fit it. So I ordered the cat from GSF, 80 quid, free post (even to IOM!), got home from work to find the parcel on my doorstep. Only trouble is - it includes the pipework all the way from the manifold to the backbox. In one piece. For an estate. Any ideas for transporting this monster 8 miles to the garage, in the vxr????

Well the job is done, but there was over three foot of pipework sticking up like a mast! I couldn't enjoy my reflection in windows as much as usual. Luckily it didn't rain. Citroen now running like a dream (and a little more economically!) Fuel prices over here are even worse in the UK, there is always a three pence markup. However biodiesel is still 105p.

I think we ought to have a Volvo Owners Club section. What do you think JG?

No problem. I've got your tarpaulin as well.

Unfortunately can't take you for a drive as the car won't be taxed until tomorrow.

This has to be the second best thread on .org Imnotworthy I'm about to join the ranks myself and considering an Astra 17td but have a couple of question to the professional shedders. Firstly do all 1.7td's have the bosch pump as I'll be vegging it and secondly what sort of mpg do they give, I know the answers are probably in the thread somewhere but after 45 pages I have no clue where.

my 1.5td is doing about 50mpg at the mo i think, mix of b-road and motorway driving.

the pump you'll have is more than likely a bosch copy. best to check though. try >here< for a good website for pump identification. unfortunately it's located under the turbo plenum, so it's a bit difficult to check. never heard of one with a bosch pump but there's always a first time ;)

svo (new veg oil) is currently running at the same price (OR MORE) than diesel, so it's time for you to hunt out old people's homes (TT may be able to help you here :P ) or any other sort of place that does a lot of cooking with oil and changes it frequently. i currently have about 200 litres of long life (palm oil content :( ) wvo that i'm looking to filter, blend with RUG and use or i'll be waiting to turn into biodiesel once my processor's finished :)

edit: what do you mean second best thread, i think you'll find it's the most readable and useful thread on here ;)
