I'm seriously starting to get shed jealousy.

Can someone please explain why I am teetering on the edge of actually wanting to own a sub-£250 car and spend practically nothing on it for an entire year bar unknown brand tyres and MOT?

:yeahthat:

Almost bought myself a V6 alfa 166 at the auction last week, had to sit on my hands to stop myself bidding when it finished at £260.

I've no need at all for a another big car but the idea of a 200odd hp 3l v6 shed really appealed thumbsup

thumbsup cold start better this morning? ;)

First compression every time! But I still don't think it should have needed glowplugs after only 50k miles.

Now for the cambelt...

 Depends if you want to spend a lot of time not going anywhere :P Nice cars, but I don't think you'd class them as 'reliable', which is a core shed quality.

:yeahthat: Those 146 were rubbish 10 years ago, not worth it even if they give it to you. (Love this thread, i'm going to read it (again) (again))

£400 is a lot in the world of shedding. I could get two for that.

Astra 2.0 Diesel is on 106k now, done 30k in it in 15 months. Still getting 500+ miles on a tank. Hope it keeps going for a bit.

I have a 1996 Micra which has done 103k miles and cost me £500. I recently serviced it myself for £25 and it never puts a foot wrong. Sheds rock!

I'm looking into the world of shedding - without reading all 49 pages :sleepy: does anyone have any recommendations for a robust, low maintenance, no paper bag over head shed?

I have a 2004 MG ZR 1.4 - Awaiting the inevitable (though post 2002 cars are supposed to have a better HG), but it is covered on a warranty. As for a VX alternative I do like it, it isn't fast - it's relatively nippy and the steering for a shed is also pretty good, the 205/45/17 Straights help. Touch wood it has been a great example so far.... Bought it with 26k on it 18 months ago and it has creeped past the 50k mark this weekend and all it has cost me is a service and MOT. Though two new front tyres (scrubbing these so much faster since buying the VX) are gonna be needed soon as will it's next Service & MOT. But when all said and done "Hank" as the missus named it has been a real soldier.

My T plate Megane sport (the 1.4 16v, don't you know) just started to play funny buggers this morning.
Started sounding like it was running on 3 cylinders. Hope it's just a spark plug or blocked injector thatr I can redex and blast out!!! rallly

Is it acceptible to run a shed on 3cyl???

Currently running my van with an expired head gasket. Heater temperatures are a fun lottery, especially now as it only works on setting 4.
