Big grin still in place , I now want the wind in my hair.
Problem is, as I took delivery before I was supposed to, the handbook hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know how to remove the hardtop.
Can any of you old-timers help?
Ta muchly.

hi huntsman
with the torque spanner you should have got with car
undue the 3 bolts over windscreen and remove trim
then undo bolts in each corner the mounting brackets will drop down
but they are held on with wire so you dont lose them.
at the sides undo bolt holding small plastic trim then undo mounting bolt.
piece of p*ss then lift off
please remember to bump into everthing while youre trying to be carefull
with hardtop.
enjoy the wind in youre hair action.

Helpful tip:
I thought it a good idea to write in indelible marker pen on the reverse surface of the collection of bits of plastic that you end up with, where they go with the orientation noted too: e.g. "driver's side" and "front" on the front edge. Saves puzzling over it when you come to put it together again months later.
Still think it's a cr@p design compared to what Fiat achieved with the X1/9 over a quarter of a century ago – you could even take it with you. GM

I was told at Hethel that originally it was a simple clip in design. However, a top brass chappie from Opel didn't fit his properly and it flew off on the autobahn. Therefore, Opel mandated the hardtop should bolt into place - hence the current clumsy solution...

Would have been nice to have the optionI was told at Hethel that originally it was a simple clip in design. However, a top brass chappie from Opel didn't fit his properly and it flew off on the autobahn. Therefore, Opel mandated the hardtop should bolt into place
A. Clip-on simple design for normally competent people.
B. Bolt-on contraption for d*ckheads
