Any ideas how i remove my rear view mirror? I've tried loads of things and it just seems to be welded to the glass:angry: . Its the original one from new. I even tried wedging a screw driver behind it, but it wouldnt budge. I also kept expecting the window to crack so i left it . :)

There's a tiny grub screw holding the mirror on to a little block. So its easy to get the mirror off. But the block itself is bonded to the glass and I don't know if you can shift it easily.

Be very careful trying to get it off - there was a post on here a few weeks back involving the rear view mirror and the windscreen cracking!.

Yep thats my worry, i can see myself shattering the window. I can get the mirror of dead easy, its the plate attached to the window. I've tried heating it a bit, may try my super heat gun. It looks like its bonded to the glass rather than stuck with a pad.

Tried that, no joy. Also tried leving it in the sun as that usually makes them fall off, but nope. Shouting at it doesnt work. I'll stick the new on top of the old one, job done :)

try slowly heating with a hairdrier, that may work...failing this just smash windscreen... if you have comprehensive insurance then you have only £50 excess to lose..! :D
