Anyone know the ground clearance / attack and departure angles for a VX? My drive slope stupidly towards my house, and in a sudden panic attack, I realised that my VX may ground out on the way in / out of the garage. Wondering if I need to make a ramp before I pick the car up on Saturday!!!... Failing that, could one of you owners do me a favour and measure the attack angle for me? (height off the ground of the lowest point on the front of the car, and distance from this point back to the centre of the front wheel...I can work it out from there..) Looking at the profile pics of the car, it has quite a long front overhang, and the front bumper is pretty low (not to mention the number plate....) To give you some idea of my drive, Its the steepest in the street, and I reckon its a 1:3 upwards out of my garage....... Help... Nick

Get your ramp making skills going.... Very unscientific method, the centerline of the front wheels is about 26 ins behind the numberplate, which is about 5ins above the floor, so that would be about 1 in 5 Where do you live, perhaps sombody could try there's Tony

Speed bumps through my village are no concern though. Another thought though. Check that the front reg plate is stuck on, not screwed. If it is screwed, then scraping the plate could damage the front cam / bumper. I could not believe that CD Bramel in Hemel Hempstead had screwed theres on, how stupid? Cw

Thanks chaps, I live in Hall Green, Birmingham (dont see many VX's around these parts...!).. 1:5 sounds ominous.... looks like I'll be down the local timber yard on friday then...lol...looks like my planned garage renovation may have to take place sooner rather than later.... I know for a fact that the number plate is stuck on (as It was hanging off when a friend went into the dealership on Sunday..).... Joy Nick

Right, tony if your measurements are correct, I should be just about ok.... Very unscientificaly measured my drive tonight (spirit level + tape measure..) 26" along and 4" up.... I reckon that leaves me a whole Inch to spare under the number plate. I must make sure I check the tyre pressures regularly..... lol. Nick
