got the recall letter through the post today...
booked it in to vauxhall tomorrow, my question is... will they at the garage actually know what to look for? as it doesnt say on the letter, or will they just ring up some technical number and find out? (not that i dont trust vauxhall or anything!). also, as another member said, mines a LY and they dont make the black wheels anymore, so what will they do? i dont want them bodge jobbing a couple of silver ones and putting them on
I think atm its a bridge that us LY owners are going to have to cross when it comes to it. I know Cocopops has already made Vauxhall customer services aware of the issue.

If vxl supply new wheels what happens to the old ones? Do I get to keep them, or does the dealer have to have them recycled into beer cans?
Would quite like to keep the old wheels for the track (complete with scrubbed tyres) if possible. Maybe they can tell me which skip they use...
Doubtful you'll be able to keep them.
Besides, knowing that they can 'fail under extreme circumstances' wouldn't exactly inspire you with confidence on track.

.... but then neither does my driving technique

Seeing as im the 3rd owner of the vehicle and had no recall notice (how would vauxhall even know if i owned the car anyway?).
Im a little worried therefore how do i resolve the problem? Who do I phone? Anyone up here near Newcastle affected?

Just call the recall helpline on 0118 945 8500 and they will tell you what is outstanding on your car, you just need your reg number

Mine definately don't have the HT mark. But ...
I had the recall notice, went into the local Bristol dealer, but was told they are only inspecting silver wheels.

My wheels have pt on them not ht, and both Vauxhall customer services and the recall centre said they wouldnt be done as they arent in the range affected.
Martin s
Don't be fooled by the larger P.T. in the casting. The HT they look for is smaller and on a different spoke. Recheck your wheels for the smaller HT...
