Jacking the VX220 (or the Elise) with just the centre jacking points won't damage the car, as effectively when you jack it to change a wheel the whole side lifts off the ground anyway. The issue of course is safety, as the car is not stable when balanced on the two centre jacking points. My MOT garage put their vehicle lift on the centre jacking points and the car was basically rocking back and forward....not safe at all. I'd agree with the above, jack one side then put axle stands front and rear, then do the other side,

Yes I saw those too, what are these rear light blankets for? To stop condensation?

Aren't they just overhang from the blankets protecting the bodywork as your leaning into the engine bay?
