Only skimmed thru some of the pages on this thread, so may have missed something, but the guidance I've received from Vauxhall Recall people and dealers is that for the rear wheels they inspect/check to see if they've been correctly heat-treated, if they think they're OK, no replacement.............so does anyone know how they do this check? Is it an accurate method/test, etc ?? You would hope that they would be pretty damn sure about it if they turn down a request for replacement ?

Booked in for Monday at the dealers. Phoned this morning to ask why I hadn't turned up... Reminded them it isn't monday and they said they hadn't written anything down. Had to tell them again that I intend to use their insurance for the courtesy Meriva (£1000 excess!) and last of all they said the parts aren't in stock so call before I set off on monday... They said it would take either a morning or afternoon to do the hose.

I phoned Vauxhall this morning and I need both fixes. Phoned my local dealer as the car is going in for a service Monday and they said they will do both fixes at the same time. I wonder if they will be able to get the parts!!

A thousand pound excess on a Meriva, you could buy a fleet of them for that :D Going to check on Monday what Recalls I need, only had the car 4 months, hope the list isn't too long, never thought to check before now, Thanks!

Just got back from Martin Rumble Vxl dealers in Bedworth, where my car was booked in today regarding the recalls... They spent a long time examining the car (I assume thats what they were doing!), and decided that, yes, both recalls were necessary. They didn't have the parts but reckon the wheels will be in on Tuesday which isn't too bad since they are only a couple of miles away. They didn't seem to have a clue about the vx220 and I had to go into the workshop to show them where the locking wheel nut extension was  Got a new expansion tank and they didn't charge me for changing it over, so that was pretty good.

Just checked mine and found:

i.e. no HT marking whatsoever on either wheel, the dealer says they should be in on Tuesday (bloody hope so cos I've got my car booked in to have the wheels sprayed on Thursday!)

Well just off the phone to Vxl recall and mines needs the two recalls. So I phoned my dealer who knew nothing about it, so I have got to phone back when I have the letter next week. Apparently they cant do the work without the letter, which is odd in my opinion but there you go. I will let yous klnow how I get on. :groupjump:

I don't think that that is right....
I'm pretty certain that they can check the recall details on their computer....
I'm getting mine sorted without the letter.

I wouldn't worry to much though... as others have said you would have to be very, very, very unlucky to suffer any failure between now and when you get the work done. thumbsup

Well, I assume they are capable of changing a couple of wheels over, but perhaps the hose work is a bit more worrying...

Regarding the letter - this shouldn't be necessary. I just gave my registration number and the garage looked up the recalls.

I checked with Vauxhall about mine.. they said i just need the Vacuum hose... Anyway i checked all my wheels just to see... Both my rears have got P.T (raised marking not stamped in to it) next to that funny symbol, on the back of one of the spokes, but then on one of the other spokes it has H.T marked on it??? (again, raised marking not stamped in to it) Incidently my fronts are marked P.T. Is this the same as the rest of you?? Cheers Nick chinky chinky

All 4 of my OEM n/a alloys have P.T. marrked on them, looks like i'm in for a set of new rear alloys :) (52 plate, build no. 4166)
