seriously tho, has anyone managed to get a copy of the bulletin for changing this hose ?

Mine arrived in the post this morning. First class post. As Thorney says, its a customer satisfaction notice.
(Car is Oct 2002)

No Wayne the new Servo Hose is Rubber.

Thanks Michael thumbsup

I suppose what I should have asked is are the replacement hoses of different specification to those fitted recently - say as warranty repairs. As my hose is now only 9 months old does it qualify for the recall?

Then again as these hoses tend to split after about 2 to 3 years wont this issue reappear in a few years - or are the 'new' hoses designed not to split or perish?

Got mine this morning too and only covers the rear alloys. But after speaking to Vauxhall yesterday, I was told that both recalls are due on my car!

Should I expect a second letter tomorrow, or is that being too hopeful?? :D

Why are none of these in the VOSA recall database. The last recall they have listed on the VX220 is 2002. I would say that broken wheels and dodgy brake vacuum hoses are serious safety related problmes...no?

I've just rang the helpline and was told that the hose is not a recall as such, it's re-work. Recalls are for safety issues, rework is just for customer satisfaction.
If your car is still under warranty they will replace the hose. If it's out of warranty (like mine) it's at the discretion of the garage as to whether they replace the hose or not*. Then she added that I may get a seperate letter, or I may not.

* Me thinks I'll be wearing my shortest mini when I take my car in! :D

Coco....so do you have black LY wheels with no HT stamp?

Warranty makes no difference these are recalls so the warranty period is immaterial.

and niether does mine.

Do the recalls have to be done by a VX220 dealer or can they be done by and vauxhall dealer... my local Vx dealer has really been helpful with this.

Letter arrived this morning, wheels only. I was advised by the helpline that the car was subject to both so I will take a trip in to the dealer for some advice.

I've just dropped my car in at the dealers for the recall work, I had a look through the instructions they have for the wheels and hose. The hose appears to be the entire length. The instructions for the wheels state at the top "FOR SILVER WHEELS ONLY" and tell the mechanic to look for "HT" on the wheels next to the two raised rectangles, If it does not say HT in this position then the wheels are to be replaced :)

I recieved the letter about the wheels only today as well. I have a question, probably another stupid one (for which i apologise in advance). Could someone point out which is the servo hose in question, The previous owner had fitted braded "aeroquip brake lines". Am I just confusing the issue, not to mention myself  , or might these include the troublesome hose? Would be very grateful if someone could shed some light in my direction. Sorry for being a plum. :beat:

Do you have a photo of the front of the car where the servo is?

The servo is the round thing in the top left of the first picture. The hose runs from there (off the pic to the right) and disappears down the nearside sill to get to the engine bay.
