Right Grimshaws of Manchester have check with vauxhall and yes, the lightening yellow wheels are to be checked and if they are without HT they will be replaced.

Very effecient, super impressed, the parts have been ordered for the brake hose as well. :)

Strange that, because when I rang Grimshaws last week, they hadn't heard anything about it, and said it would take at least a few weeks before they could get all the info together, and then they would get back to me.

Did you hassle them to check for you? Did they want to see the letter (because I've not got it yet)

P.s. From experience do not wait for them to contact you when a part comes in. I've had parts sat there for up to a week before, whilst the cars been off the road and they've never once bothered to tell me.

admits.. are they doing the whole hose? I dunno if to use them or not... very close to me (5mins)

thumbsup

She did say the the whole hose...

tbh, they seemed much more clued up than the other VX dealer which is in Bolton.

I will be checking to make sure they do the whole hose.

I would get it done chesireVX... at least it will all be done in one go. My letter didnt mention the vacum whose either, but they checked the system and said that was fine.

Right - all done and dusted!!!

Took her into Wantage today, they have:

Changed the wheels :D  :D
Posted Image
Both very nice and shiny B)

And replaced the whole hose from the servo (front section shown below) through to the non return valve in the engine bay :)
Posted Image

Although as can be seen in the photo below, the small bit of pipe between the non return and the 'engine' has got a few cracks and they have not touched this part (however the car is now five years old and I still see these minute cracks as superficial - nice to know if they do get any larger I can turn around and say that Vaux have admitted there is a problem with the hose :D )
Posted Image
Only potential problem I can foresee is the way the hose has been positioned (in the second photo) whereby getting the battery out is going to be an even bigger PITA if necessary

PS Wantage Bellingers were spot on again ie lift back to work, very proffesional attitude thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

  Made me laugh - wanting your car to have a recall!!! ;)

I got my letter today about alloys but no mention of servo hose but will sort with dealer when I book it in. Only prob now is that I will have nice, shiney rear alloys but 4 year old not-so-shiney fronts! Ho, hum!

Will post up copy of recall letter tomorrow for info purposes just in case others have not had letter but should have done.

BTW - vin no 3578

Too right. My wheels are scuffed to buggery, I could really do with new ones (Although I'd prefer a recall on the fronts - they're much worse than the rears) thumbsup
Also, the vacuum hose has been bugging me for ages. Been meaning to replace it myself but never got around to it. Now someone has to do it for me and it doesn't cost me a penny - bonus!

That doesn't surprise me. Sems like this all happened only in the last week or so. Vauxhall dealers are never so on the ball as to pick these things up straight away. Give them the recall reference number and let them follow it up with Vauxhall directly.

Got my letter today. Anyone had a letter and NOT needed a replacement ? I'd LOVE a replacement - I chipped a rear badly in my recent unscheduled offroading incident.

Got my recall letter yesterday, again though only for the wheels, do they send a seperate letter for the servo hose or should it have been on the same letter if needed? Just going to ring Vaux anyway to get it sorted, gives me an opportunity to make sure the rest of the previous recalls have been done. I think I'll have to take mine to Southampton (picador is it, or is Regal a Vauxhall dealer?) Anyhoo, VIN is *0887.
