Got letter on Monday. No mention of brake servo hose. Car booked in at Burnham Vaux this afternoon, will mention the brake servo hose also. Tried to book at Lance Owen at Heathrow, to be told we're very busy with all the people who bought a new car last August who are now having their first service. WTF?

After having received my alloy letter yesterday, rang Vauxhall helpline re servo hose and they just gave me a re-work code to quote to dealer and this work will be done FOC. Vauxhall explained that recalls are dealt with by writing to every registered owner, whilst re-works are carried out by dealers next time they are in for service etc (although you all probably know this, just could not be bothered to read through 15 pages of this thread to see if info was being repeated!!) Booked in to Phoenix Croydon - whilst still on phone finalising booking, they texted me to confirm date and time. Impressed by their service so far. Phoenix will do servo work and also steam clean my front alloys so they match nice new rears :D

It's back now! Archie Moss have confirmed that I need 2 new alloys, and have ordered me a Servo Hose aswell. :) They don't know how long I'll have to wait for the parts though, it could be 2 days, it could be weeks.............. They will only supply silver wheels though  which doesn't bother me coz Reg sprayed mine, so I didn't waste time arguing with them. :D E. :)

Is there any chance you could post up the re-work code for the servo hose here, to stop us all having to call the recall number to get one? Or is it a specific code for each car?

John I think the code for the wheels is 06-C-006 and the hose is 06-R-008. On my wheel recall letter on the back page in the "change of details" section bottom right ref no lists both codes Michael

Re-work code I was given is UK06R008 - not sure if it is specific to each car but think not as Vauxhall man said something along the lines of "the code for that rework is...."

HTH

edit after seeing Michael's post ...

Oooh, so does mine. :)

My previous reply on here on the 26/07/06 said that I'd rang Vauxhall who checked my chasis number on 3 occasions and I was told I was the first of that day that had not needed the wheels doing. Yippee. So why then did I get the recall letter yesterday, take it to Vauxhall today and now have 2 alloy wheels on order...I ain't complaining at new alloys but why the confusion on their part. :o

Might seem an odd un but, Whats the chance of Vauxhaul changing the wheels on the back from NA to turbo, Should they req changing. Obviously the fronts would req changing but I would'nt moan about the cost of 2 new front turbo alloys coming out of mrs tashes purse. Questions: 1, Whats the best angle to approach this. 2, Is there any cost differance between rear alloy for NA against the Turbo. 3, Whats the cost of a turbo front wheel. Cheers dudes :D

Why would you want to do that? The NA alloys look much nicer than the tubby ones. Some tubby owners have bought the NA ones!

theres bits on the turbo that I like which I'd fancy on the NA, like the alloys and spoiler, after that you can pretty much keep it. I'm waiting for me recall letter to come through for me non existant spoiler on the NA to be changed cos its not been heat treated. :D

No idea mate,

I am still trying with Vauxhall.......... grrrr, very trying!!!

Anyway, my LY wheels do not have the HT stamp and the car is within range.

So I can't see how they are not affected!

Norwich Vaux Dealer: "we know nothing about that" After a bit the service guy came out holding a wad of paper and booked it in and ordered the hose.. Is it safe to drive I asked "yes" he imediatly replied and then proceeded to read the document and repeated "yes"... I was just testing but was suprised he would say yes without reading it first...

I asked this question of grimshaws manchester... they said they had checked with vauxhall and that my wheels are for replacing if they dont have HT on them.

Like cocpops says, surely they must be afftect if the dont have HT on them.

hmm, i was just told blankly, that vauxhall have said that they dont need replacing because only silver wheels are affected! i'll check the HT stamp tonight, although can i bypass the vauxhall garage myself and just sort out the wheels to go to another garage?

I just called Vaux Customer (dis)service AGAIN!!! 2nd time today, 7th or 8th time this week!!! They are "awaiting information from the VX220 Specialist" :beat: Do they only have 1 in the UK? They never call me back, so hence I have to chase 2 or 3 times a day! I'll continue to chase and keep you guys informed.

Its odd as the 1st dealer i rang had a bee in his bonnet about it being silver only

so i tried the other one asked the question and they were much more sensible about it..... they did take there time to check and rang me back. dont use mine as an everyday car... so they are checking the wheels on the same day they fit the vacum hose. I just want the hose doing atm, cos my is definitely sypmtomatic of the splitting.

Cheers for chasing Lee, as it seems pointless for us all to harping on to them.. gives them less time to actually get the issue sorted.
