Also... as being 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc owners of the LYs.... how do we know that the wheels fitted aren't silver ones sprayed black?!? ie if a previous owner needed new rears coz of kerbing etc.... We all know there are no LY wheels in stock, so prev owners may have taken a silver one (non HT treated etc) and had it painted/powder coated.

exactly. Also common sense says that the wheels just have a different finish. So if they were HT'd then they would have the HT on them. Im not having idea that they made a batch of 100 HT'd but not stamped HT. Wouldnt make sense...

Jules?

I was told that they'd only supply silver ones. My Hubby sprayed mine, so I didn't bother arguing with them, Reg'll just spray my new ones. :)

If I'd paid someone to spray them, I'd be doing a naked sit in at Archie Moss right now! :D

No news yet smiler. But in fairness ive been on the fone for 90% of today on business. Im very confident i will get mine done black again...as i am for the LY squad. I (we) paid a premium for getting the wheels done black, and its not our fault vaux left it four years to sort this recall. ;)

My fronts will now look crap next to the back, if I want them re painting would most spray companies know what colour to spray them if you told them standard VX220 wheel colour? Mines having the hose done today, they had to keep it an extra day to get some "special glue" whats that for then?

Just rang the recalls dept but no recalls for me. Which suprised me since my vx is no 94 and I was looking forward to some new rear wheels. Phil

I took mine to Bayliss, Cheltenham on Tuesday, they are ordering new wheels and pipe. It was the first time I had been there, Paul came out to see me and chatted for almost 30 mins. he's a real enthusiast :) He said what he does is tapes the end of the old pipe to the new, adds some lubricant and then pulls it through the near side sill from the rear. This is after he has removed the dashboard and got the pipe to the point of entry. Apparently there is some sort of polystyrene supports inside the sill with holes that route the pipe. I hope the tape doesn't come loose :o , sounds like he has done a few so I think it's in safe hands.

If anyone uses wilsons of Bolton then they have the vacum pipe in stock..... When i rang them originally he told be to ring back when i had the letter.... we had a debate over the silver wheels issue.... so i went to grimshaws in manchester....today i get a phonecall saying the parts are instock for my vacum hose  so after a day or two these will be there for someone else to claim.

Ive just bought some velcro so that VXL monkeys wont make a mess of taking off my alcantara dash inserts [they currently are stuck in with adhesive tape]

So I can just take them out before dropping it off.
