sorry for being think, but what do they have to take the dash off for????
I think it is because the pipe enters the sill under the dashboard and you need a clear feed to get the new one through smoothly. Guess it's difficult enough without having to do it up-side down, with a gearstick in back and a handbrake up your *&%£

Just had my car taken off me. We are not allowed to allow you to take your car away sir as it is in an unsafe condition.
Good job I don't need it this weekend.

Up @ 7.30 this morning to take the car to Pentagon @ derby. 90 mins later informed that the "Beast" requires 2 alloys and a vacum hose.
The initial conversation went like this,
me, I have a recall letter from vauxhaul to have rear alloys checked, also I was told by Vauxhaul helpline that brake/vacum hose req checking.
Vaux, Do you have letter for brake.
Me, No, Vauxhaul said I don't need one, and when i booked it in here they said it dose'nt matter either.
Vaux, Huh I've never heard that before, you say its booked in.
me, yes it is. 8.30.
Vaux, its not brake hose its vacum hose and yes it req's checking, Oh I did,nt know there was a recall on them.
Whilst hanging around for it to be checked I found a Greasy spoon roadside buger van and had a £2.50 "Big pig" special. Very nice as well, anyway whilst watching the car being checked over, I could'nt help but watch the bloke who was valetting cars. Is it an advanced way of cleaning cars that once you have cleaned the paintwork you do the wheels and then do the paintwork with the same cloth again.Whats that all about.
PS: Sticking bog standard wheels on, and not buying new fronts at £250 each.
Refused to check my vacum hose because i didn't have a re-call letter

Due to wheels. He showed me the guide from Vauxhall. It clearly state vehicles with the defect must not be released.
He also told me I would need a new set of pads all round due to the brake recall. I had to point out that the letter refered to the vacuum hose

I couldn't be arsed to argue so just left the car following a close inspection.
