Yep, dash needs to come off for sure,I have had my car looked at and confirmed I need new wheels and they will also do the brake servo pipe. No mention made of the car not to be driven but maybe that is because they know I have another car that I use for commuting. What I would like is if someone could confirm that the servo pipe will take 10 hours and that the dash top has to come off to do it? If the dash has to come off then I will ask them to feed a power lead through for my TomTom, then I can wire it into another socket to stop wires trailing about inside the car.
Took the guys in Wantage about four hours to do my wheels and vacuum hose, though it is one of those things where if they have problems things can get nasty

Do you think I should take the dash out myself, or risk them doing it?

E. dreading leaving my car with 'em

It's a bit of a PITA to get the dash out... I'd leave them to do it, then if there are any problems, it's up to them to sort it out.

It's only four screws, if you don't feel you can trust them to take the dash off, then I wouldn't consider getting the work done thereDo you think I should take the dash out myself, or risk them doing it?

We work on/build our other cars ourselves though (and the Exige goes back to the factory for its servicing), so I'm not used to leaving cars with garages, and after all of the dealership horror stories on here it's very unsettling.

On the plus side I've since heard that Coalville are supposed to be good with VX's, so fingers crossed they'll look after it like it's their own.

My Na registered Jan 2001 Build No 0086, Needs Both the Servo hose and the Rear Wheels.
I've only just seen this reply. I guess mine'll need doing as it's build 0087. I looked at the inside rims with a mirror yesterday and they have PT printed not HT

My baby has been recalled also. 2 new alloy's & a hose coming my way. I am actually v pleased about the alloy's as mine had a little scuff on each

Yeah wondering the same with my hose replacement. To tell the truth i just KNOW she's going to come back with extra scuffs inside and the usual marks of abuse from vxl monkeysThey have advised that the hose is in stock but have no idea about the eta on the wheels, with mine being a lightening I would hazard a guess at "a while"

Hope your baby is sorted soon our-kid

Although mine (no 94, reg in Dec 2000) didn't need either recall. Haven't checked my wheels yet though.

Does anybody know if Graham or Ian still work at Picador?
I think you'll find that Graham IS Picador!
& Ian a very long serving employee, so I'd be suprised if he has left.

Yikes!I've just spoken to Picador Southampton and the chap there told me that they have been cutting the ends of the hose and re-attaching it, on the stock cars they have anyway. I suggested that the whole hose be replaced as surely there is nothing to stop the fresh ends of the existing hose from going the same way after a while. Thinking about it, that doesn't stop any internal collapsing anyway..
Slightly discouraging..![]()

This is my local garage, I'll need to find out what the score is before I take it in
