re: servo pipe - good news that VX are aware of problem and will replace FOC... I hope their supplier is using something stronger this time
.... or I will supply some proper pipe for dealer to fit !!
(for those that don't already know, it may just look split at the end.. but the inner wall has probably collapsed most of it's entire length, especially on bends... hence very dangerous.... and hence no doubt the formal recall....)
As I understand Thorney's thread, the intention isn't to replace the hose, just either end, which seems to defeat the point entirely.
After re-reading the original thread on the wheels from speedyk, it would appear that in Switz, the whole hose has been replaced (4 hour job), rather than a quick bodge job.
I would suggest you re-read Johns post then....it's as clear as day that the whole pipe will be replaced....
Personally, I don't think its as clear as day light from this:
BRAKE SERVO HOSE
This is not considered a safety recall but is still important to get it done. We all know of the issue but now Vauxhall have decided to officially sort it, its basically where the servo hose splits at the end, Vauxhall have deiced to replace
Nor given that you've already said that Vaux have only replaced the ends of yours and JamesGrey's hoses when they know there's a recall imminent (they appear to have known in Switz for some months), does it suggest that vauxhall are going to replace the whole pipe when they've only quoted a job time of 90 minutes.
I apologise if I've jumped to wild conclusions there, but I think GM may take more than a small hit if they have to fork out for 4hrs labour plus parts for the 3000 odd vx/speedsters affected. I just naturally assumed that like any major company they will try getting out of anything if possible
