Are there any caveats to the cars on re-call, like if they are in oro out of warranty, if the have been serviced at VX dealers etc?

Or is this a global recall on any VX out there that fits the criteria of vin number and wheel type?

A recall will be done to all VXs regardless of remaining warrenty or where they have been serviced historically :)

Right, My n/a is booked in tomorrow at Baylis Cheltenham for it's MOT and to replace the brake servo hose. Baylis said it's NOT a recall  :( But the Vauxhall helpline lady said it is a recall  :D Alloys are ok, thank god as their black :jump:

I'm a little confused by this:

one wheel has an X on the stamp mark

the other has the number 5122.

?

P.S i was just luck on where the correct spoke ended up, i didn't actually place the car.

Anyone enlighten. TBh its not really a problem as the car is virtually not going to be driven for the next month. I'll sort it out then.

i know, i know the obvious answer is just to book it in, but in the meantime...

I assume the letter or number in the HT rectangle is the heat-treatment operators number? I would guess its been stamped to say its been heat-treated - but still worth checking with Vauxhall on build numbers below 3000 ?

Just been on the phone to vxl, I need both recalls on my 2001 NA. Quite looking foward to some new wheels as the rear left is a bit of a mess! Booked in for saturday, though I doubt the parts will be available so soon... Told my gf about the recall whilst driving her to work in the VX - she liked that :P

I've just fired off an inquiry to Opel Norway, so we'll see what they say (not that you lot care though.. :P ). No panic at all, but it would be *great* to get new rears. :) Edit: Anyone read anything about this on the German Speedster forum?

Bugger

03 plate vin 3549 (almost Jules' chassis brother but a year 'younger'!!!!!)
No HT markings at all so I guess that means a new pair of rears..... damn, I've spent soooo much time getting the kerbing on the rim just how I like it.....

For those people with spare wheels the recall applies, the wheels do not need to be on the car for replacement.

Hey Thorney,

So this means if we have two sets of rear alloys, both 'faulty', Vauxhall will replace both?

Do I need to supply the chassis number of the car the second set of alloys came from?

Many thanks!

(Not panicking, just want nice shiny new wheels! :D)
