We're just providing some accurate information regarding mapping, and why we use the VXR injectors based on the information we've seen when developing our software.

If you'd seen the data log, as we have, of a Stage 4 ZLET engine running standard ZLET injectors at maximum duty cycle, you would see why we choose to use the higer flow injectors for safety.

Just because we can run a 25 psi overboost map (and I have on my car for test purposes) doesn't mean we do. As we stated in the reply above we suggest the use of the lower boost and lower torque map for easier driveability. With the VXR injectors and their ability to fuel better i.e. they are not working flat out all the time, it means that we know that both AFR and EGT is extremely safe.

If I am prepared to run the high torque map at 25 psi overboost on my car for road and track day use, including the 'Ring, with no problems for development purposes, it means that we know the lower boost/lower torque stage 4 map is completely safe.

I'm more than happy to show anyone who may be a little sceptical, that i do indeed have a map running this level of boost.

Oh I'm sure its possible Mark, wasn't criticising that, just that IMO it was way too high and would potentially cause premature turbo damage thats all.

Which is why we suggest the slightly lower boost/torque map. We just know that with extra fuel available the map is totally safe. EGT's don't get too high as the injectors are not maxed out. They still have a safety margin and can dump extra fuel if required to reduce high EGT's which the standard injectors cannot do if they're maxed out.

No indication of premature turbo damage, after all any modified Astra VXR (Stage 2) will be running a map to similar overboost levels in order to produce the torque figues everyone is claiming aren't they? We're just using the same turbo unit and injectors in the VXT's. SHow's whan can be done.

We always suggest, as I'm sure you do that in a modified turbo charged car a high grade fully synthetic oil is used to offer maximum protection and it is changed regularly. I change my oil every 5k maximum.

Good discussion all the same.

Well going back to the original post I have a VXT Courtenay Stage 4 and it was upgraded about 18 months ago. Its great, very resposive, no lag and I've had no problems (touch wood). Your going to enjoy whichever you choose. IMO only use Courtenay or TMS. thumbsup
