Question- me and my bro were playing online last night, we could race together but is there a way where we can both drive freely together on the map? as even when we were in exactly the same location we couldnt see each other online, but could see loads of other players.

Go on to the map, select the "Players" tab, hit "X" for filters, select "Friends", close the filter ("B").

Select the relevant friend on the map, press "A". Repeat this bit until you can see them. Easiest way to find if you are together is to press left on the left-hand d-pad until you see "Free-ride Players", your selected friend should be there (it may take a couple of seconds for the list to populate).

Delisle2529: Just accepted your friend request.

n1k ns: Just sent a friend request.

I'll invite you both to the club next time I'm there.

Just messing.. :P

Here it is again, in case I've added something useful..

You can cruise the island together, as long as you are on the same server. Here's what you need to do (sorry if it reads like an idiots guide!):

1. Get in a private chat room through the guide button, so at least you can speak while you're trying to meet up.
2. One of you will need to just sit on the road and wait for the other person to show up. Don't wait on the map screen though, just sit in your car on the side of the road so that the other person can find you easily.
2. The other person will need to go into the gps map and press RB or LB to change the information on the gps screen to players/people. press X to open the filters and change it to friends (at the bottom).
3. Highlight the friend on the gps screen using the sticks/d-pad and press A (not B ), it should say 'go to' or similar. You'll zoom down to where they are.
4. Wait a few seconds for the server to connect (literally a couple of seconds) and if they're not there, go back into gps and highlight the friend and press A to 'go to' again. Repeat until you find them. It doesn't always work first time, so be patient.
5. When you finally find them on the road with you, press left on the d-pad a few times and you will see their name on a player list, possibly with other names. Press down until you highlight their name, and press right on the d-pad a couple of times, following the instructions to 'lock player'. The other person will have to accept the lock request. It's not essential, but it's meant to help keep you together on the server. Now cruise!

Remember though that every time one of you goes into the gps screen, you'll lose contact, and have to do it again. It get's very easy after a couple of times though, so it's no big deal. Another thing, remember that you might still be in private chat, so if anyone else finds you they won't be able to hear you until you go back into game chat. Finally, you cannot join anyone with (N/A) by their name on the gps screen. That could mean they are in a house, race, showroom, shop etc..

I hope that makes sense!

You need to have visited all the car garages before you can buy any motorbikes.

Whats the best way of getting money?

Car deliveries to start with, then any mission until you reach "Champion" (?) and then there's one mission near the centre of the island (not the one in Honolulu) called "180 in heavy traffic" that pays $70k...use a Saleen/Enzo/something quick, immediately turn round at the start line, move to the left of the road, accelerate, and about 15 seconds later you'll be $70k richer.

Bloody sweet!!! I'm well doing that tonight!

Will be online at about 9pm if anyone fancies a blat!

One thing I noticed last night as I was racing a Frenchman is that his Enzo seemed a lot faster in a straight line than mine. I'm assuming he's had it tuned but I can't seem to find the Ferrari tuning shop, anyone know where it is?

Erm...maybe you ought to check the fold-up map that came with the game?

Ferrari is in the bottom right of the map.

In GPS its a spanner icon (there are only like 4 on the game pressing x in the gps and limiting it to tuning shops should help).

more detailed location is as follows.

Bottom right

Where the Freeway ends and there is a peninsula that drops down from the rest of the island, go straight up from the left side of the peninsula and its somewhere there.

Note you will have to drive there first if you have never been there yet.

On another nite must agree with CocoPops that last night was alot of fun..

Quick question guys. I want to buy an xBox 360 (this thread strikes again!) and TDU and was just about to buy them both today in Currys when I read on the back of the TDU box that you require a 60hz TV? What does this mean? The guy in Currys didn't know (no surprise there then) and I've looked through this thread and can't see anything about it. I have an old TV (about 6 years old) and I'm not sure if this would run it. I do have a P.C Monitor spare that I could use (or maybe get a switcher box and put the xBox near the P.C. Also is everything set up when you buy a 360 premium pack for xBox live? I have wireless Broadband (2 meg I think) via a ADSL router will this do? Help I really want to buy this now but wont bother if I'm not going to be able to play it!! Cheers guys Dean

The telly thing i cant help with but im using an old 26" CRT telly and its coping ok. as for the premium cand ur adsl router your good to go. It comes with a free month but you can pay 39.99 and have it for a year and be a gold member. Benifits from being gold i havent a clue.

Ha ha, welcome! :D The 60Hz thing is the TV frequency, check the back of the TV, it should say 60Hz or other on a label along with some other info. If you want to connect wirelessly, you'll need a wireless adaptor for the xbox too, but if you can get a cable to reach (I use a 10m cable!) and you don't need to move the xbox much (why would you?!), I'd just use an ethernet cable. thumbsup You might want to check if your router is properly compatible with live too..

O.K I think I've got the TV thing covered (it has 50/60hz on the back) So just to confirm, I need a wireless router (I think I saw one of these today for around £50) I have a D-link one for my laptop would this work?? It seems to just be a USB connection, is this right? Also, the best offer that I have found is at Currys, £299 for the premium pack, with a wireless joypad & TDU. Is this the best around?? Cheers guys (and see you soon in TDU) Dean

Why can't you connect a network cable from your current ADSL router to your XBox?
