Why can't you connect a network cable from your current ADSL router to your XBox?

The ADSL router is upstairs & I plan on using the xBox downstairs on the TV (if indeed it will work)

Angelplayz

You already have wireless broadband right? Though a wireless router? Provided that your router is live compatible, you should just need a wireless adaptor for the xbox (like this), it's an xbox 360 specific product and can be found in any game shop. Mine is wired in so I can't be of much help, but I'm sure someone here has gone wireless on the 360.

TV sounds fine by the way, but that's not a guarantee!

Sorry, I can't help you on the pricing, I'm sure there was another thread off-topic if you dig around though.. thumbsup

If anyone new wants to add me, my GT is my name on here, and in my sig thumbsup

Thanks a lot for the above on page 11, did it last nite, now locked my friends on the map! Nice 1!

Also Angelplays i just bought a 360 premium, with extra controller, steering wheel/pedals, face plate, DVD remote and Pro Evo or Fifa, for £379.99. Shopped around and looked on here and it seemed to be the best deal going, And my TV must be at least 10 years old and still works fine with the 360! I havent actually seen a HD Tv play Xbox yet so i cant compare quality!

Hope that helps

if you buy from currys online you can use this code YAW513 that will get you 5% off. and use YAWDVF0022 is you get it from dixons. will give you 5% off there.

Angelplayz, as I understand things, this is the required setup:

phone line --> [wireless adsl router] <-- wireless --> [wireless bridge] <-- network cable --> XBox

If you have a wireless router (check compatibility) then all you need is a wireless bridge (again, check compatibility).

A work colleague has sent me this link to the wireless bridge that he is using in the same configuration as above.

It comes with a free month but you can pay 39.99 and have it for a year and be a gold member. Benifits from being gold i havent a clue.

If you can find one of the "old" Xbox game & live bundles, you can get a 12 month card for less than that... more like £20-25.

I got mine earlier in the year from play.com with PGR2 (though they have no stock at the moment):

Got mine off eBay - £18 emailed, thought it might be bit dodgey but feedback was really good, and for £18.

Paypal'd them, rec'd number 10 minutes later, worked a treat :D

Well bought it and it is a mint game. Great graphics (although I do think a new TV will be in order next year) and some great cars to play with (although I'm only in the TT at the mo, a car I absolutly hate with a vengance in real life, so common) cant wait to get it online (will probably be next week as I have so little time to do these type of things) Cheers again guys for all the advice and see you all soon! I've got a friend who will be joining the VX club shortly, his gamer tag is "BobsUncle". He's a biker not a VX220 owner  but make him welcome anyway  I'd suggest he would be good to include in any inter-club racing (which he needs) as he's pretty good :D I'm now down to two timed challenges left, Tantalus and the Maserati Trophy, grrrrr. Also, anyone know what the "new content" was that I got a message about yesterday? I looked at the Testdrive site and it seemed to say that there were some new garages but I couldn't find them :(

I only played once in about a week and a half, and admittedly that wasn't for long, but no updates for me.. It must have something to do with readying the game for the new content, the car pack, and maybe some roads as rumoured. If that really is a new Jag dealer though, I guess they are feeding bits in slowly.. Is the trade feature still down? I really should get back on TDU.. maybe tonight rallly

It didn't arrive as a normal update, I just got a message flashed up saying I needed to restart to enable some new content. I didn't read it very closely and closed it immediately as I was in the middle of a race and it popped up a window right in the middle of my windscreen

Is the trade feature still down?

Yes

Have you started to download any of the free testdrive stuff? I had the same message but it was the stuff i had downloaded of the Xbox desktop. Think they are like hints and tips videos.
