So whats the differences between a full geo setup (lets exclude corner weighting as it's a little extreme) and getting a basic wheel alignment? as far as I know a standard wheel alignment will set Camber, Castor and Toe back to manufacturers specification and im guessing that a geo does exactly the same, but instead of trying to get the best tyre wear changes it to the best performance or does it do something else?

I would say that 'basic' alignment would be to restore factory settings, whereas a proper geometry setup will change the handling characteristics of the car. ie. less understeer, more rear end grip, better turn-in, less stability.

Castor won't be touched on routine work, and probably only done on full geo under owners wishes, to pricey and unnoticible improvement unlesss trying to eek out a few hundreths of a sec per lap. :sleepy:

standard wheel laser alignment will make sure the 4 wheels are all facing foward in the same direction , This does not mean they are all in line with the chassis , - like a full geo set up ?

can geo setup be used to make the handling less "snappy" you know to increase the margin for error between facing the right and wrong way? Are the geo setups noticable on the road or more a track use focused mod?

Hi.

Anybody know, how should I mean geometry data? For example toe-in documentation data is: "0.2mm; -0, +0.2mm"
Is it:
0.2mm nominal setup and tolerance -0 to +0.2mm from nominal setup
or
0 nominal setup and tolerance -0,2mm to +0.2mm?
I thing so the first choice, but my local geometry service mechanician told me that the second choice is correct?!?
I can't belive that because this notation: "data ; data , data" is not logical in second choice?

Greetings from Poland
Sebastian
