19th Nov 2006 - was my post really that long ago. I still remember both the joy and embarassment of realising where I had actually parked the car. Would you believe that elephant still thinks my car was stolen every time I renew my insurance (and when the wife renews hers too) The VX is still doing well - and I know where I parked it before you ask

My brother did something very similar a couple of years ago except it was his big bright orange high top transit van that he thought had been stolen. After a week of searching for the van in all the spots where they get dumped or burnt out and having reported it as stollen to the police he recieved a phone call from his friend saying. "Can you please come and get your van from outside my mums house because it is starting to P**s her off just sitting there." He suddenly remembered that he had driven to his mates house where I had picked them both up and taken them down the pub to watch a game of footie. You can imagine he had fun explaining to the police what had happened. Still he also was very releaved as he had over £10k's worth of windsurfing kit in the back of the van at the time. You are not alone with the bad memory. I still remind him of this on many occasions
